UNIVERSITY FACTS Bloomsburg made all 17 of its foul shots in the second half - 21-of-22 for the game - as it completed a season Location Bloomsburg, Pa. sweep of Cheyney University with a 73-63 victory at Alfred Cope Hall on Saturday afternoon. Redshirt junior Founded 1839 Christian Mortellite poured in a game-high 23 points - his 17th 20-point effort of the season - while senior Enrollment 9,754 Malik Sneed was perfect shooting the ball on the day (5-of-5 from the field, 6-of-6 from the line) en route to a Nickname Huskies career-high 16 points. Senior Yahmir Greenlee was also in double figures for the tenth consecutive game as he Colors Maroon and Gold chipped in 14 points, including 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. Affiliation NCAA Division II STARTING FIVE ... Conference PSAC (Eastern Division) 1 - Redshirt junior Christian Mortellite continues his rapid ascent up Bloomsburg’s all-time scoring list. The Arena Nelson Field House sharpshooter currently sits in 13th place on the school’s all-time list with 1,312 career points. He jumped ahead President Dr. David Soltz of Lorenzo Christmas (2010-14) in the win at Cheyney on Saturday and now trails Richard Lloyd (1958-62) by Director of Athletics Dr. Michael McFarland 27 points to move into a tie for 12th place. He has scored at least 20 points in 17 of the 19 games this season and has 37 career 20-point efforts in 71 collegiate games. He has hit double figures in 55 of his last 57 games TEAM FACTS and has been held to under 10 points in a game only nine times in his career. Basketball Coaching Staff Head Coach John Sanow (IUP ‘87) 2 - Bloomsburg has found its stride offensively and has moved to sixth in the PSAC in scoring offense at 81.2 Record at Bloomsburg 129-159 (11th Season) points per game. The Huskies scored just 73 points on Saturday at Cheyney - the fewest since scong 70 at Overall Record Same Clarion on December 10. Bloomsburg has averaged 86.3 points over its last 11 contests after averaging only Assistant Coach Michael Hamlin (Bloomsburg ‘11) 74.1 points per game through the first eight games of the year. All told, Greenlee has hit double figures in all ten games and is averaging 16.9 points and 3.8 assists. As a team, Blooms- burg ranks tenth in the country in both free throw percentage (78.4%) and blocks per game (5.1) while ranking 21st in the nation in three-point percentage (41.3%). Mortellite, meanwhile, leads the country in three-pointers PROGRAM HISTORY per game (4.11). He is just ahead of Lincoln Memorial’s Luquon Choice (4.05) and Angelo State’s Quay King First Year of Basketball 1901-02 (4.00). Mortellite is also sixth in the nation in total threes (78), 11th in points per game (23.2), 26th in free-throw All-Time Record 1312-937 percentage (89.0%), and 29th in three-point percentage (45.9%). All-Time PSAC Record 515-395 PSAC Championships 2 5 - Bloomsburg had three players post a double-double in the win at Wilmington - Christian Mortellite (28 pts, (1952-53; 1978-79) 11 reb), Kyle-Michael Rose (17 pts, 12 reb), and Carnell McGirt (12 pts, 11 reb). It marked the first time multiple PSAC East Championships 9 Huskies’ players had a double-double since February 10, 2016 against Kutztown - Mortellite (25 pts, 13 reb) and NCAA Tournament Appearances 8 Malik Garner (20 pts, 10 reb). The Huskies had not had three players post a double-double in the same game since prior to the 1990-1991 season.
