Faculty of Arts Auckland Schools Scholarship Code: 1033 Faculty: Arts Applicable study: First year of a BA or BA conjoint degree in the Faculty of Arts Closing date: 18 January Tenure: One year For: Assistance with study Number on offer: Up to 15 Offer rate: Annually Value: Up to $5,000 Description The Scholarship was established in 2019 and is financed by the Faculty of Arts. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to provide recognition and support for students from lower-decile Auckland schools, particularly those in South Auckland and West Auckland, with the potential to succeed at university. Selection process - Application is made to the Scholarships Office - A Selection Committee assesses the applications - The Selection Committee may also assess candidates short-listed from eligible applicants for the University of Auckland Top Achiever Scholarship, the University of Auckland Māori Academic Excellence Scholarship, the University of Auckland Pacific Academic Excellence Scholarship and the University of Auckland Academic Potential Scholarship – School Leavers - The Scholarship is awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of the Selection Committee Regulations 1. The Scholarship will be known as the Faculty of Arts Auckland Schools Scholarship. 2. Up to 15 will be awarded annually, each for a period of up to one year, and will be of the value of up to $5,000 each. 3. The Scholarship may be offered to students who are citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand, currently in their final year at a decile 1-4 secondary school in Auckland and intending to enrol full-time in a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or BA conjoint programme in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Auckland in the following year (see Note I). -
