"Jammin' Oldies" may become the new tagline for the rhythmic oldies format variation that began in Los Angeles as "Mega." In the past week it's shown up in Dallas (on former "Texas' Best Rock" KTXQ) and Tampa Bay (on the former soft AC "Love" WILY, St. Petersburg). The early Western U.S. converts are still using the identifier "Mega" -- but they're in markets with a strong Hispanic influence. The "Jammin' Oldies" that just launched in Dallas and Tampa may lean more black than Hispanic, and " Jammin'" may be a stronger slogan for them.
