Alexandra Ballet Announces 2018 - 2019 Season

Independence Banquet and Polonez Ball Saturday, November 3rd By invitation only

Celebrating the centennial anniversary of the restoration of Polish independence, the Polish American Cultural Society’s Independence Banquet and Polonez Ball will be held at the prestigious Chase Park Plaza. Alexandra Ballet will be represented by First Company member, Kathryn Mayer, dancing an excerpt from Les Sylphides. This romantic reverie was choreographed by to the music of Polish composer, Fredreric .

The Nutcracker Friday, December 14th, 10:00am By invitation only Alexandra Ballet is honored to bring the magic of ballet to St. Louis area schools and beyond through its annual Young People’s Performance. AB presents a narrated version of the beloved Nutcracker. At Alexandra Ballet we know how important it is to expose children to the arts and inspire them to participate. Sunday, December 16th, 4:00pm Alexandra Ballet brings this enchanting production of The Nutcracker to the beautiful Purser Center in Chesterfield. Presented by Logan University, this one hour ballet was created especially for families with young children. Make this exciting production the beginning of a great holiday tradition! Musical, Magical, Moving 2019 Sunday, February 24th 4:00pm This performance will showcase Coppelia Revisited, Les Sylphides Suite, and Hora Tango. Coppelia Revisited, the wonderfully comedic ballet which is considered to be the last ballet of the Romantic Era. Les Sylphides Suite features excerpts from the ballet Michel Fokine choreographed to the music of composer Frederic Chopin. Hora Tango, choreographed by Monticello Award-winning Choreographer, Lyn Wiltshire, created the piece especially for Alexandra Ballet. The company will perform the first movement, Day, restaged by Ballet Mistress Norma Gabriel, with original music composed by Arles Estes.
