Total serum protein level was 2.9 g/dl, with an albu- min level of 1.4 g/dl. Bacterial cultures obtained from blood and bullous fluid were positive for A. hydrophila. A skin biopsy specimen obtained from a vesicle revealed a subepidermal vesicle; necrosis of the epidermis, papil- lary dermis, and subcutaneous fat; and massive hemorr- hage in the subcutis (Fig. 2).
