4 PB A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC GOOD

A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC GOOD.

For more than a century, Bowling Green State University has been creating public good by driving the educational, cultural, social and economic vitality of the region, state, nation and world. BGSU IS A NATIONAL LEADER IN PARTNERSHIPS We’re developing unique public-private partnerships and new, relevant and meaningful academic programs to prepare students for success and to help meet the workforce needs of Ohio and beyond. • BGSU has formed a new strategic alliance with Bon Secours Mercy Health and Mercy College of Ohio that builds upon the strengths of the organizations to meet the educational needs of students and the growing workforce demand for nurses and other health care professionals in Ohio and across the nation. • A new Bachelor of Science in resort and attraction management, created in partnership with Cedar Fair Entertainment Co., is the first program of its kind in the country designed to prepare graduates for careers in this high-demand, multibillion-dollar industry. • A collaboration with Northstar Aviation continues to expand opportunities for the University’s aviation students, helping address a nationwide shortage of pilots. In addition to providing flight instruction, Northstar has built a new flight center and hangars, and provided new aircraft. BGSU faculty lead the academic programming. • The University continues to build upon its longtime partnership with Owens Community College. The Falcon Express program gives students who begin their studies at Owens a fast, seamless track to a BGSU bachelor’s degree, and our new online RN to BSN program helps registered nurses advance their careers by providing a convenient path to earning a bachelor’s degree. • U.S. Air Force personnel stationed around the world can now work toward a college degree through BGSU under a new agreement with the Community College of the Air Force.
