Cayman Academy’ Under 12 Boys’ and Under 12 Girls soccer teams brought home the treasure for Cayman yet again, just a week after winning more than 30 medals in the Island Games at Gibral- tar. This time, the U12 Boys’ team won the Gold Cup Championship at a major soccer tournament in Blaine, Minnesota after being victorious in all their match- es at the tournament. The U12 Girls’ did amazingly too, bringing home a huge silver cup. A small crowd of moms, dads, broth- ers, sisters, uncles, aunts, friends, and members of the Academy Sports Club were there to welcome home the teams at Owen Roberts International Airport on Sunday 22 July. The Arrivals door swung open, and the Under 12 boys’ team members proudly held the magnif- icent gold cup high, for everyone to see. Of course, the Under 12 girls’ team, too, who showed off their beautiful silver cup. They were all were greeted by loud cheering and applause, hugs as camera
