Not a lot of new details, with the programmer still basking in the glory of its golf coup. Fox announced late Wed a 12-year deal that will bring the US Open, US Women’s Open and US Senior Open championships to Fox broadcast and Fox Sports 1 beginning in ’15. NBC, ESPN and Golf Channel will lose the major tourneys. “There is actually limited opportunity to acquire new product until 2017,” Fox Sports co-pres Eric Shanks said during an Investor Day presen- tation. “By diversifying content, we’re no longer relying” on a single rights deal to be successful. And just so we’re clear once and for all, there will be a Fox Sports 2 (currently Fuel TV) at the “outset” of Fox Sports 1, Shanks said. UFC, MLB, NASCAR, Soccer, NFL, USGA, CFB and college sports will be represented in programming, with more than 4800 hours of live programming planned for the year. FS1 is expected to be profitable by ’16. On the RSN side, “we’re looking forward to stepping up our interest in YES Network, which we believe will be an excellent addition to our portfolio of RSNs,” co-pres Randy Freer said. -

Ludovic Bource
LUDOVIC BOURCE BIO Ludovic Bource is an Academy Award-winning composer. His 2011 score for The Artist, recorded with award-winning Brussels Philharmonic, elevated Bource to international fame and earned him numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Grammy Award, and a BAFTA Award. He is also known for his Emmy-nominated score for HBO’s Larry David-directed film, Clear History. Bource began his career composing music for commercials, but later moved on to short films, such as En attendant (2000), Spartacus (2003), and Sirene Song (2005). After working on the Michel Hazanavicius film Mes amis, Bource has become a long-time collaborator with the director. He has since scored such Hazanavicius films as OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies (2006), its sequel OSS 117: Lost in Rio (2009), and most recently the black-and-white silent film The Artist (2011). He was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in June 2012 and was also named a Chevalier des Arts et Lettres by the French Government. Ludovic Bource has toured all over the world, performing The Artist live in concert with some of the most prestigious orchestras in Paris, Sydney, London, and Rotterdam. Most recently, Ludovic scored Les Naufragés, a French comedy released in February 2016. CITIES AND CULTURES CITIES AND CULTURES As places of turbulence and transformation, cities are sites of forgetting. Simon Ward And yet archiving and exhibiting the presence of the past remains a key cultural, political and economic activity in many urban environments, such as Berlin. This book examines the crucial role of visual culture (architecture, memorials, photography and film) in shaping Berlin’s urban memory culture in both East and West in response to the changing political, social and economic organization of the built environment over the past five decades. This memory culture continues to generate critical encounters in a global city whose spatial and temporal boundaries have disintegrated. Through these encounters, we, as denizens of a globalized world, might remember how place can be remembered.
