Since 2012, San Antonio Sports has led the effort to increase accessibility to green space in neighborhoods across the community. San Antonio Sports is a key member of the San Antonio Local Organizing Final Four Fan Fest Committee (SALOC) and was the driving force behind the 2018 NCAA attendance Men’s Final Four. From leading the bid effort in 2014 that secured the Final Four, to coordinating the local organizing committee, our team pulled off one of the largest and most successful events ever hosted in San Antonio. ALL-STAR GAME

More than 100 seniors from San Antonio and the surrounding area were selected to play in the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game, presented by H-EB, which marked its 40th anniversary in 2018. AN ANTONIO S SPORTS The game was played in January at the after the All- American Bowl. Our goal is to help provide visibility for players looking for an additional chance to impress college recruiters before National Signing Day. More than 100 players represented 56 high schools, including schools in Bexar, Comal, Kendall, Guadalupe, Wilson, Atascosa and Media counties. The All-Star Game is televised locally on CW35 and broadcast on ESPN 1250 AM. The All-American Bowl, which features the best high school players in the country, is televised nationally on NBC.

20 21 EVENTS THAT IMPACT OUR COMMUNITY ALPHA WARRIOR TEAM TOUGH FIESTA CHALLENGE

Thirty-six co-ed high school teams battled it out on a warm spring day at San Antonio Sports’ inaugural Alpha Warrior Team Tough Fiesta Challenge. This competitive, challenging and fun-filled obstacle course race took place on Fiesta Friday, April 27, 2018, at North East ISD’s Heroes Stadium. Each team was paired with a member of the military who helped with strategy and pushed them to exceed their expectations. The day also emphasized core values, such as leadership, teamwork, passion, courage and respect. This first-time, official Fiesta Partner event was challenging, both mentally and physically. In addition to the Alpha Warrior technical obstacle course, teams also earned points in “battleground events” including the MUY! Sack Races, SSFCU Two- 36 Minute Drill and the Hallmark University Tug-of-War. High school teams At the end of the day, Brandeis High School came out on top, earning the championship trophy and bragging rights. One of the event’s highlights featured a military tug-of-war competition that pitted 10 the Army, Air Force and Marines in a battle for the 2018 Patriots Cup. With all of their high school teammates rooting them on, and after a fierce Members on each team competition, the U.S. Marines took home the cup. (5 boys, 5 girls)

CORPORATE CUP ROCK ‘N’ ROLL MARATHON

More than 5,000 people converged on the University of the Incarnate 2017 marked the 10th anniversary of the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll San Word athletic facilities June 2 for the seventh annual San Antonio Antonio Marathon & ½ Marathon. Race weekend includes a runner’s Sports Corporate Cup presented by Ortho Now Injury Clinic. It expo, 10K, 5K, Subway Kids Rock, full and half marathons and two- was a sight to behold!
