Description of Course

Course Title: Intro to Broadcast Studio & Film Production - #105

Description: This course provides the foundation for future courses of in-depth study that will prepare our students to communicate more effectively in a world where media technologies; videos, film, Internet, telephone, etc. are converging into an inter-related digital mosaic.

Goals: This course will begin with a study of the history of man’s great quest to communicate from early cave drawings, moveable type, phonograph, and radio to early , computers, and the Internet. Students will learn the basic pre-production skills of researching, writing scripts, and storyboarding, and they will advance to learning various production and post- production skills including film editing and the operation of audio and video equipment.

Requirements: Students will display their knowledge both in written papers/scripts, tests, and several hands-on group projects.
