Installation time The installation time is as follows for these models: - E70, E71, E72, F01, F02, F03, F04, F07, F10, F11, F12, F13, F18 Approx. 2.0 hours, -F25 Approx. 1.5 hours, - E81, E82, E87, E88, E90, E91, E92, E93 Approx. 1.25 hours, - E84, E89 Approx. 1.0 hours. This may vary depending on the condition of the car and the equipment in it. The installation time specified does not include the time spent on programming/coding. The calculation of the total costs for the programming time must be factored into the calculation of retrofitting costs (no invoicing via warranty).

Important information These installation instructions are primarily designed for use within the BMW dealership organisation and by authorised BMW service companies. In any event, the target group for these installation instructions is specialist personnel trained on BMW cars with the appropriate specialist knowledge. All work must be completed using the latest BMW repair manuals, wiring diagrams, servicing manuals and work instructions, in a rational order, using the prescribed tools (special tools) and observing current health and safety regulations.

Quote the following information: - Chassis number, - Retrofit kit part number, - A detailed description of the problem, -Any work already carried out. Installation information Ensure that the cables and/or lines are not kinked or damaged as you install them in the car. Costs arising from this will not be reimbursed by BMW AG. Additional cables/lines that you install must be secured with cable ties. All pictures show LHD cars; proceed accordingly on RHD cars. Program/encode the "BMW Apps" retrofit with ISSS (Integrated Software Service Station) via the – Conversions – path.

Depending on the car’s special equipment, the pin assignment on the radio receiver may vary. Connect branches A4–A6 as per the following list to radio receiver A42*1B.

The retrofit system requires coding.

Ordering and supply of FSCs - FSCs are "coded series parts", i.e. FSCs are always created on a vehicle-specific basis and must therefore be ordered from BMW as PSI parts (Production - Series - Invest), specifying the chassis number. - FSCs are supplied via the BMW After Sales Portal (ASAP) under Parts and Accessories (Sweeping Technologies). The retail organisations can download the FSCs onto a PC via Internet download.

- Connect the battery - Program/encode the "BMW Apps" retrofit with ISSS (Integrated Software Service Station) via the – Conversions – path - Conduct a brief test - Re-fit the car components as required - Insert the Media snap-in adapter as per the car’s Owner’s Manual
