• Mt. Talang is Located around 40 km East of Padang City, Capital of West Sumatera Province • Location is 1.0S, 100.7E, Elevation 2,896 meter

Background information on the incidence

• As of this morning, BAKORNAS and local officials report a general decrease in activity although volcano few sporadic bursts, has lowered alert level to level III. • The Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics board has warn people to avoid the ash fall-out zone around the peak and initialing the evacuation process of the mountain’s slope

Government Support Central Government President Susilo B. Yudoyono has visited area of IDPs; along with provincial government officials have made to carry out assessments.

Provincial Government ƒ Provincial Government deem that health care problems manageable by local health authorities. ƒ Coordination with the Satlak PBP, Solok District. ƒ There are 7 emergency shelter areas with the Main ‘Posko’ at the Bupatis’ Government Office, in the Solok District. ƒ Health ‘Posko’ has been established in each emergency shelter area. ƒ Health staff at local Health centers, satellite Health centers and hospital have been alerted and ready. ƒ Health care is administrated and implemented in emergency shelter areas, with each visit averaging in assessing 205 people. ƒ Filter masks are in being stocked and distributed free of charge at all times.

WHO and MoH Support PPMK (MoH) in cooperation with EHA (WHO) are maintaining communication and initiating preparation for health sector assessment and aid.

• Mt. Tangkuban Perahu is located in the vicinity of , Capital of West • Mt. Tangkuban Perahu (Location is 30 km north of Bandung, 2076m above sea level)

Background information on the incidence

ƒ BAKORNAS and BMG report that volcanic activity have decreased, but is still carefully monitoring the volcano. ƒ Poisonous gas emitting and smoke rising up from volcano crater, although decreasing is still being reported reported. ƒ The Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Board still bans the crater area off- limits to all people. ƒ Alert level is still at level III (prepare), and is being monitored.

Government Support • The Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics board and BAKORNAS have banned crater area off-limits. • Provincial official warn people to avoid the crater area and socialized to the surrounding people in the area to be calm and on alert.

ƒ BAKORNAS and BMG report that volcanic activity have decreased, but is still carefully monitoring the volcano. ƒ Black smoke still erupting out of Mount Krakatau, although decreasing is still being reported. ƒ Alert level is still at level II (alert), and is being monitored. ƒ The Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Board still bans the crater area off- limits to all people.
