Contents 2 Questions to the Deputy First Minister and Minister for the Economy and Transport 2 Questions to the Minister for Business and Budget Answers to the Written Assembly Questions for answer on 24 March 2011 To ask the Minister for the Economy and Transport Angela Burns (Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire): Will the Minister clarify exactly which stages and what percentage of the Llandewi Velfrey bypass project will be delivered by the end of 2011- 12, as referred to in the recently announced capital programme. (WAQ57309) Answer issued on 05 April 2011 The A40 Llanddewi Velfrey – Penblewin scheme will commence in 2011-12. To ask the Minister for Business and Budget Angela Burns (Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire): How many offices owned and leased by the Welsh Assembly Government are currently not used in Pembrokeshire and at what annual cost. (WAQ57303) Answer issued on 31 March 2011 There are no offices on the Welsh Assembly Government’s administrative estate in Pembrokeshire which are currently not used. (WAQ57304) Answer issued on 31 March 2011 There are no offices on the Welsh Assembly Government’s administrative estate in Carmarthenshire which are currently not used. Angela Burns (Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire): In addition to Llandudno Junction, what further new offices has the Welsh Assembly Government invested in during the last 5 years and at what cost. (WAQ57305) Answer issued on 31 March 2011 The Merthyr Tydfil office opened in 2006, Aberystwyth in 2009 and Llandudno Junction in September 2010. The three new offices have brought Welsh Assembly Government services closer to the people of Wales, improved the working environment for our staff, improved accessibility and communications for members of the public and stimulated economic growth in the areas where the new offices are located. The final construction costs for the Aberystwyth office was £20.878m and the Llandudno Junction building construction costs was £20.754m (excluding VAT). The Merthyr Tydfil costs are outlined in the Project Closure Report on the internet which can be found at: http://wales.gov.uk/about/programmeforgovernment/strategy/locstrat/publications/merthyrclosure/?lang= en In addition to these construction projects, the Welsh Assembly Government Administrative Estate has also acquired three new leasehold offices over the past five years. The figures are also inclusive of VAT. (WAQ57306) Answer issued on 31 March 2011 The final cost for construction of the building was £20.754m (excluding VAT) and the final cost for furniture, space planning and installation was £2.271m (excluding VAT).
