How to Install Vmware View Client on & Connect Wilmington University's vCloud Environment.

1. Open the Ubuntu Center

2. Click Edit > Software Sources

3. Click on the Other Software Tab and make sure the box next to Partners & Canonical Partners (Source Code) are checked (You may be prompted for your authentication password). 4. Close out the and open a terminal and type -s

5. Once there is a root shell prompt, type -get update.

6. After the update is complete type apt-cache search vmware. You should see vmware-view-client in the list like in the picture below.

7. Now at the root shell prompt, type apt-get install vmware-view-client. There will be a listing of the packages and dependencies along with the size of disk space will be used to install the application followed by a prompt to continue. Type y and the application will be installed and you should be able to find it in the dash. 8. Now open Vmware View Client and in the field type remotedesktop.wildcats.wilmu.edu and click the Connect button.

9. When prompted, fill in your WebCampus Userrname and Password and make sure that the Domain field is set to WILDCATS and click the OK button.

10. Once connected, choose the Vmware-vCloudDirector-RDP computer. 11. Once the vCloud Director desktop appears, login using your WebCampus credentials once again.

12. At this juncture you can login and access any Virtual Machines that have been provided for your course(s). Your Instructor will provide additional information regarding any configuration that is required for your class.
