West Kent College HND Television production. September 2008 – 2010 We have been taught how pre production helps production to run smoothly. I was educated in basic health and safety on set. On this course we have produced many videos using equipment such as Arri lighting (150w, 300w and 600w) and dedo lighting. The videos where shot on Sony PD 150’s. In post production I have edited using software such as Adobe premier, Avid Pro and Final cut.

September 2006 – June 2008 Coopers Technology College 6th form I studied Media, Drama and ICT during 6th form. I did many projects in my media studies many where written assignment and one practical assignment in which we had to produce a trailer to a film that we would like to create. I learnt a lot from this course mostly about the theory of film and TV and also many editing skills. Whilst studying drama I found that I enjoyed directing actors as well as acting myself, I was heavily involved with many pieces helping act and even direct many other groups work. I learnt how to act and direct.

‘Level playing field – Directed by Mark Owen’- Cupsogue Pictures – July 2009

As a runner on this short film I was helping with the movement of cast and crew members to and from locations, but I was also helping on set with lighting and movement of items onto set.

‘F – Directed by Johanners Roberts’- Black Robe productions. July 2009 – August 2009

I was using many different forms of light and lighting equipment. I used Arri lighting spreading across from 150w pepper pots to 2.5w HMI’s. We also had keno flo 4ft 4 banks, 4ft 2 bank, 2ft 4 banks and 2ft 2 banks. This was a horror film which required a large amount of lighting which would give the correct low light feel on camera.

Whilst running for this production I learnt about lighting and camera when using film appose to digital. I went from a general runner collecting people from train stations, helping with food orders and general moving object around set to working with the camera and lighting team helping them directly by moving object with them and helping set up shots.

This commercial was shot using a small green screen which I had some experience with but this helped me to gain confidence in lighting the green screen and subjects to get the best results.
