Whether you can ‘adopt’ some Gnosall, Moreton or Knightley streets or just your own, all offers of help would be greatly appreciated. If we have any architects, planners or other professionals who would be willing to volunteer their services to work towards developing better sports facilities/services in the village, again please contact the Clerk, as everyone will be made welcome. After almost 5 years working for Gnosall Parish Council, Jamie McLaren will be leaving us at the end of October to take up full time employment with the NHS. Jamie has been a valued member of staff, looking after Grosvenor Centre bookings, assisting the Clerk in many ways, producing much of the Parish Council’s publicity material and helping with GFest administration.

Another year draws to a close, We have has a busy year with brewery visits, pub visits, pub crawls and even some inter-branch skittles! Oh, and of course our Annual Beer Festival! What a success! Yet again you drank us dry! We were worried, what with all the sport, the recession and the wettest summer since 1912 that we would be down on numbers, but you came out in your droves, enjoyed our beers, ciders and wines, the food supplied by the Lew- is Partnership (which seems to have gone down really well) and the music we chose for your entertainment. We hope you enjoyed your visit, and thank you for coming and saving us the onerous task of finishing the beer!! We also presented our two annual pub awards during the summer, we award our pub of the month to deserving pubs each month (which are featured in this publication) but we also chose a Pub of the Year and a Cider Pub of the Year. In case you missed the articles in BAH 13 these were The Sun Inn in Stafford and The Swan at Stone respectively, try them out and see why we chose them.

For the purposes of the study detailed information has not been collated for the major settlements of Stafford and Stone because of their size and dominance in comparison to the other settlements within the Stafford Borough area. 1.3 The majority of the survey work for the Settlement Assessment was carried out during the Spring and Summer 2007 by officers from the Forward Planning section of Stafford Borough Council. During the site visits local services, their location and opening times were recorded in order to confirm previous desktop based research regarding local services and facilities. The Local Plan guides where new development will take place across the Borough area, and identifies how places will be shaped in the future. The purpose of the Local Plan is to set out a vision for the development of the Borough, to create objectives to guide growth, and produce policies to make sure that new development meets local needs in line with national policy. 1.2 The Local Plan for Stafford Borough consists of three documents: The Plan for Stafford Borough which sets out the strategic policies for the Borough.
