Teaching kids at home due to coronavirus? Homeschooling moms share their tips "Your 'school day' will not be perfect, and that's OK. Just try to remember you're adjusting to something new and there will be some bumps along the way." March 13, 2020, 12:12 PM EDT / Source: TODAY By Terri Peters As the new coronavirus spreads, schools across the country are closing their doors and encouraging parents to help kids complete schoolwork at home until risk of catching or spreading COVID-19 have passed. For parents, the question is, how? TODAY Parents sought advice from homeschooling parents on how to teach kids at home. Fox Sports reporter and host of the "Players with Lindsay Czarniak" podcast Lindsay Czarniak, wife of TODAY co-anchor Craig Melvin, shared one of her survival techniques on Instagram this week: a hand-written schedule outlining her kids' "school" day at home. "This was more for me than the kids but with a couple weeks of hunkering down ahead for them I followed the advice one of my son's teachers shared," Czarniak wrote in her post, joking that "Recess/PE was waaay too long but I had a meeting." Journalist and college professor Alissa Wilkinson solicited help from homeschooling parents on Twitter, asking for advice for "people who are going to be trying to 'do school' at home for the next month," and received suggestions ranging from knocking out difficult subjects first thing in the morning to making sure to get up and get dressed before starting schoolwork to optimize success. For parents who, like these moms, are asking, "What do I do now?" we talked to moms who homeschool and rounded up 12 tips for homeschooling your kids — even if just temporarily — during the coronavirus pandemic.

  • Consumer Propensity Report by Category
Consumer Propensity Report Marketing and Merchandising Intelligence for Local Business The Consumer Propensity Report (CPR) shows the lifestyle, product, and psychographic likelihood indices for the consumers within the trade area being analyzed. Major retail, restaurant, grocery, and consumer packaged goods firms use this very same information to drive marketing and merchandising decisions. Each analyzed item is assigned a propensity index score with 100 being average. For example, if the consumers within a trade score a 120 for a given analysis item you know that those consumers are 20% more likely to participate in or purchase that item than the average American household. A propensity index score of 80 would indicate that those consumers would be 20% less likely than the average American household to participate in or purchase that item. Information is provided for 32 major categories with over 4,800 total line items. Please note that line items are based upon national‐level purchasing and lifestyle characteristics. These line items are then correlated to the underlying household characteristics of the consumers within the trade area being analyzed. Some line items may not be necessarily relevant or available currently in your market or region. The index score in these situations serves to indicate the degree to which the consumers would participate in or purchase that item if it were relevant and available. Often this is taken as an opportunity for expansion of a similar brand or concept within the category. CPR Categories Apparel

Capps, NAPA start celebration for 50 years of Funny Cars with win at Winternationals, start Mello Yello season on Fox Last Sunday was Valentine’s Day but the season-opening NHRA Circle K Winternationals in Pomona, Calif., didn’t show much love to Don Schumacher Racing. That is, unless you are Ron Capps and the NAPA AUTO PARTS team led by crew chief Rahn Tobler and assistant Eric Lane who opened the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season by winning the Funny Car title to begin a special year that commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Funny Car. Their 2016 Dodge Charger R/T was the only one of seven DSR entries to advance past the second round of Mello Yello eliminations and they went all the way. Capps and the NAPA team were dominant all weekend during the first of 24 national events with seven of their eight runs in the 3- second range including all four in qualifying that helped the team earn the No. 2 spot. “I have the best team in the business, and they gave me a great racecar,” he said. “All four runs in the 3s in qualifying, I don’t think anyone else did that. I knew we had a good racecar. Tobler and I have grown so much together. It’s like a marriage. He really keeps me in line on race day. We had a heckuva day.” And it was a banner weekend for NAPA Racing.
