Section 2, Clause (bb) of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 defines a 'banking company' as follows :- NOTIFICATION "Banking company" means a banking company as defined in Section 5 of the Banking Companies Act, 1949 (X of 1949), having branches or other establishments in more than one New Delhi, the 26th March 1953 State, and includes the Imperial Bank of India." No. LR. 100 (57)-In pursuance of section 17 of the Industrial Disputes Act, In this definition the word 'State' was substituted for the word 'Province' by the Adaptation of 1947(XIV of 1947), the Central Government hereby publishes the following award Laws Order, 1950. Section 5 of the Banking Companies Act, 1949 (X of 1949), defines a of the All-India Industrial Tribunal (Bank Disputes), Bombay, in the dispute between 'banking company' in clause (c) as follows:- certain banking companies and their workmen. "Banking company means any company which transacts business of banking in India." BEFORE THE ALL INDIA INDUSTRIAL TRIBUNAL (BANK DISPUTES), BOMBAY Clause (b) states, "banking means the accepting, for the purpose of lending or ADJUDICATION investment, of deposits of money from the public , repayable on demand or otherwise , and withdrawable by cheque, draft, order or otherwise." Between Clause (d) States, " 'Company' means any company which may be wound up under The banking companies mentioned in Schedule I to the Government of India, the Indian Companies Act, 1913 (VII of 1913)". Ministry of Labour Notification No. S.R.O. 36, dated 5th January 1952. The expression 'establishment ' is not defined but it means a place of business at which deposits are received, cheques cashed or moneys lent and includes a sub-office, pay-office and and sub-pay office. Panchapagesa Sastry, Chairman, Government is of opinion that an industrial dispute exists between employers and workmen in relation to some of the banking companies specified in Schedule I and that it considers it Sri M.L. [email protected], [email protected] Abstract - The study based on the relationship between willingness to take financial risk and the probability of taking a loan for educational purpose as well as the influence of risk attitudes on the size of the loan. The findings suggest a positive relationship between individuals’ willingness to take financial risk and the probability of taking a loan for educational purposes. Similarly, individuals’ willingness to take financial risk appears to be an important determinant of the size of the educational loan. The findings suggest that individuals from less wealthy backgrounds are likely to take finance education through loans which could potentially increase inequalities in education and income.
