These will include: Field lining and materials (currently done over several days) Additional need for sodding around high traffic areas Field deterioration with less than ideal conditions for Fall sports Loss of field recovery time during the Spring (The field is allowed to “rest” to help prepare for new growth for the Fall season) Impact on Current Facilities • Demand of Spring Indoor Facility Usage • All sports are indoors • Additional levels of Lacrosse without adequate space • Season of Lacrosse would include 16-18 games/level • 4/6 levels – Neuqua, 4 levels – MV/WV • Inadequate Locker Room Space • Storage Space Impact on Existing Programs Outdoor Facility Scheduling Girls Soccer Outdoor Practice Schedule Middle and High School Track Limited number of dates are provided to the middle school Based on field availability of the stadium field No games are played on stadium field when track meets are held Middle school track meets are held at each of the five high schools within Districts #204 and #203 Impact on Middle School Track Program With the sponsorship of Lacrosse in Naperville District #203, the number of track meets has significantly declined Majority of track meets for the Middle School Athletic Conference has been held at the District #204 High Schools There is not an area on-site for track meets to take place Currently no development plans for a track with Naperville Park District Very open to conversation and discussion between District #203, #204 Impact on Middle School Track Program Dates are offered Monday – Friday across the three high schools Lacrosse game scheduling would prevent the use of the track in the stadium field during the week. The Middle School Track program would be discontinued. This elimination would decrease the number of athletic offerings at the middle school level from 11 offerings to 9.     OVC CHAMPIONSHIPS 7 The Panthers have won a total of seven Ohio Valley Conference Titles. No other team in the conference has as many championships as Eastern Illinois. 4 Eastern Illinois has advanced to four NCAA Tournaments, the most by any women’s soccer program in the Ohio Valley Conference. OVC COMMISSIONER’S CUP EIU won the OVC Commissioner’s Cup for the 2012-13 school year, marking the third Cup title for the Panthers under the new format which began five years ago. The award is a symbol of overall athletic excellence in Conference-sponsored championships. Since the new format was adopted five years ago, the Panthers have won three of the five OVC Commissioner’s Cups while placing second the other two years.
