Existing Athletic Programs Impact on Athletic Fields of Play

• Currently we provide a limited number of games during the Spring Season for Lacrosse

School Games played on stadium field Waubonsie Valley 3 for Varsity Boys, 3 for Varsity Girls Neuqua Valley 1 for Varsity Boys, 1 for Varsity Girls Metea Valley – Turf Field 7 for Varsity Boys, 8 for Varsity Girls Impact on Athletic Fields of Play

Increasing the frequency of use on the stadium fields will result in additional maintenance costs and time for our grounds crew. These will include: Field lining and materials (currently done over several days) Additional need for sodding around high traffic areas Field deterioration with less than ideal conditions for Fall sports Loss of field recovery time during the Spring (The field is allowed to “rest” to help prepare for new growth for the Fall season) Impact on Current Facilities

• Demand of Spring Indoor Facility Usage • All sports are indoors • Additional levels of Lacrosse without adequate space • Season of Lacrosse would include 16-18 games/level • 4/6 levels – Neuqua, 4 levels – MV/WV • Inadequate Locker Room Space • Storage Space Impact on Existing Programs Outdoor Facility Scheduling Girls Soccer Outdoor Practice Schedule Middle and High School Track Limited number of dates are provided to the middle school Based on field availability of the stadium field No games are played on stadium field when track meets are held Middle school track meets are held at each of the five high schools within Districts #204 and #203 Impact on Middle School Track Program With the sponsorship of Lacrosse in Naperville District #203, the number of track meets has significantly declined Majority of track meets for the Middle School Athletic Conference has been held at the District #204 High Schools There is not an area on-site for track meets to take place Currently no development plans for a track with Naperville Park District Very open to conversation and discussion between District #203, #204 Impact on Middle School Track Program Dates are offered Monday – Friday across the three high schools Lacrosse game scheduling would prevent the use of the track in the stadium field during the week. The Middle School Track program would be discontinued. This elimination would decrease the number of athletic offerings at the middle school level from 11 offerings to 9.
