FOOTBALL PRO DAY General filming tips to consider: • You should use a tripod with the camera about 5 feet off the ground, if possible. You can even get a tripod for your smartphone on amazon! Unsteady video is difficult to watch, and many coaches will simply move on to the next player video rather than suffer through film that is not stable and steady. • There are five main things a college football scout is looking to see: mechanics, speed, athleticism, power and body language. • The camera view should never be obstructed. • Always warm up before the filming starts. The athlete should look loose and natural. • Dress appropriately, look like a football player. • Film until you get your desired rep! The cleaner, smoother and more explosive you look the better. You should be trying to get as close to a PERFECT rep as possible RB/FB Skill specific drills (5x each side): • Off-tackle Reaction (stretch handoff, through cones or bags and make a move and then BURST) • 4 Square footwork drill, make a move and burst. Routes (2x each side): • Swing Route • Flat route • Texas or (angle route) • 6 step corner route • Wheel NOTE: Make sure every route looks crisp, is caught cleanly, and give a 15 yard burst after each catch.
