Created in 2010, through a partnership with the state of and national on line Western Governors University, WGU Indiana's mission is to expand access to affordable, high-quality higher education in the state. The online, nonprofit university for Hoosiers currently serves 4,700 students, with more than 4,200 graduates throughout the state. WGU's unwavering focus on improving student experiences and outcomes has resulted in increased student and graduate satisfaction and greater career opportunities for our graduates.

In 2013 , the university introduced education programs aimed at encourag ing students to borrow only what they need.
