Limassol, 20 March 2019 17th CYPRUS FILM DAYS INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL 2019 12 - 20 April 2019 Announcement of the films in the programme: "Viewfinder - A Close Up of Contemporary International Cinema" Cyprus Film Days International Festival, a cinematic event dedicated entirely to contemporary world cinema, announces this year's Viewfinder section films, screening out of competition. All the films are Cyprus premieres and are the work of newcomers or established filmmakers that have been awarded in multiple international festivals during the past festival year 2018 - 2019. The Festival will run from the 12th to the 20th of April 2019, at the Rialto Theatre, in Limassol and at Zena Palace Cinema, in Nicosia. The Festival is organised by the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Rialto Theatre. The films screening at this year's "Viewfinder - A Close Up of Contemporary International Cinema" section are the following: Beautiful Boy, Directed by: Felix van Groeningen (U.S.A.) (Nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture - Golden Globes, Nominated for Best Supporting Actor - BAFTA Awards, Best Feature Award – Chicago IFF, Best Actor Award- Palm Springs IFF etc.) In his first English-speaking film, Flemish director Felix van Groeningen (The Broken Circle Breakdown) is adapting the best-selling pair of memoirs from father and son David and Nic Sheff about latter’s experience with drug addiction. Emerging new star Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name) in a demanding and challenging physical performance of a young man suffering and acclaimed comedian Steve Carell, who once again proves his powerful talent in dramatic roles, as the father, deliver a heart-breaking realistic family drama. -

Activity results for 2015 Eurimages, the Council of Europe Fund for the co-production, distribution and exhibition of European cinematographic works has 37 member states1. The Fund’s President is Jobst Plog. CITY OF LOS ANGELES RESOLUTION "UGGIE" WHEREAS, Uggie was rejected by at least his first two owners as being too wild. He was about to be sent to a dog pound, but was adopted by animal trainer Omar Von Muller after his friends alerted him to the dog. Von Muller only intended to foster the dog while he found him a new home, but decided that U ggie should stay. WHEREAS, Uggie was a crazy, very energetic puppy. Uggie was very smart and very willing to work. One of the most important things was that U ggie was not afraid of things. That is what makes or breaks a dog in the movies, whether they are afraid of lights, and noises and being on sets; and WHEREAS, Uggie is rewarded with sausages, to encourage him to perform, but that is only a part of it. When not working, Uggie lives in North Hollywood with Von Muller, Von Muller's wife, and Von Muller's six year old daughter. There are seven other dogs in the household, all of whom work in the film industry; and WHEREAS, Uggie's earliest roles were in commercials and minor roles in the films What's Up Scarlett, Wassup Rockers (2005), and Mr. Fix It (2006) alongside David Boreanaz. His first named role, and big break, was as ''Queenie" in the romantic drama Water for Elephants, alongside actors Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon; and WHEREAS, Uggie appeared in "The Incredible Dog Show" from August 2010 onwards, a tour of dogs with different tricks, which toured the United States and South America; his trick was riding a skateboard; and WHEREAS, in 20 ll silent movie The Artist, and it was this role that brought him to the attention of 1 mass media, with some critics describing him as "stealing every scene' • He had two stunt doubles in the film, named Dash and Dude, who were colored to look more like Uggie, but Uggie did most ofhis own stunts and the doubles were barely required. -

It argues that the biopic is a necessary category because producers, reviewers and cinemagoers have significant investments in biographical subjects, and because biopics construct a ‘public history’ for a broad audience.
