M.a MOLINA Se trata la composición taxonómica, frecuencia, fenología y daños causados por las especies de Lepidópteros que habitan los cultivos de arándano en Andalucía Occiden- tal. Se recolectaron catorce especies, la mayoría han incorporado recientemente esta planta en su dieta larvaria. Algunas de ellas pudieran revestir importancia en el futuro, debido a sus características bioecológicas, la abundancia de sus poblaciones, su amplia distribución o el tipo de daño causado. Entre éstas, los Tortrícidos Cacoecimorpha pro- nubana (Hbn.) y Lobesia botrana (Hbn.), el pirálido Criptobables gnidiella (Mill.) y los noctuidos Spodoptera littoralis (B.) y Acronicta auricoma ([D. & S.]), se conside- ran las especies de lepidópteros que pueden requerir un futuro seguimiento y/o control. The group was particularly patient and friendly, having great enthusiasm and a keen interest in nature. We explored different habitats to find the largest possible variety of butterflies, and we also enjoyed every other type of wildlife encountered in the field. Croatia is still a rather unspoilt country with a lot to discover, and some almost untouched areas still use traditional agricultural methods that guaranteed an amazing biodiversity and richness of creatures that is lost in some other Western European countries. Day 1 Monday 11th June After a flight from the UK, we landed on time at 11.45am at the new Zagreb airport, the ‘Franjo Tuđman’. After collecting our bags we met Ron and Susan, who had arrived from Texas a couple of days earlier, Luca, our Italian tour leader, and Josip, our Croatian local guide. Outside the terminal building we met Tibor, our Hungarian driver with our transport. We loaded the bus and set off. After leaving Zagreb we passed through a number of villages with White Stork nests containing chicks on posts, and stopped along the gorgeous riverside of Kupa, not far from Petrinja.

MS Excel, MS Works, or tables in MS Word or tab-text are all acceptable file types. It not only makes my life much easier, it is a joy to use! Please remember to include your name in the file name of your records. On days where several different recorders send a file called ‘butterfly records 11’, it’s chaos! It also helps if you include a header with your name on so that your printed records can be easily attributed to you. Woefully few people have taken this on board. Thanks to those that have, it takes so little to bring joy and relief to this poor recorder. Executive Summary This document sets out the 'Action Plan' for butterflies, moths and their habitats in South- Central England (Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight & Wiltshire), for the period 2000- 2010. It has been produced by the three Branches of Butterfly Conservation within the region, in consultation with various other governmental and non-governmental organisations. Some of the aims and objectives will undoubtedly be achieved during this period, but some of the more fundamental challenges may well take much longer, and will probably continue for several decades. The main conservation priorities identified for the region are as follows: a) Species Protection ! To arrest the decline of all butterfly and moth species in South-Central region, with special emphasis on the 15 high priority and 6 medium priority butterfly species and the 37 high priority and 96 medium priority macro-moths. ! To seek opportunities to extend breeding areas, and connectivity of breeding areas, of high and medium priority butterflies and moths. b) Surveys, Monitoring & Research ! To undertake ecological research on those species for which existing knowledge is inadequate. Aim to publish findings of research. ! To continue the high level of butterfly transect monitoring, and to develop a programme of survey work and monitoring for the high and medium priority moths.

Day 1 Sunday 23rd September Weather: Stansted – Misty. Calvi – Fine warm and sunny. Eight tour group members met Paul at the check-in at Stansted Airport, for Titan Airways flight ZT8701 to Calvi. Upon our arrival, we soon cleared passport control, customs and baggage reclaim, before we crossed the road, outside the terminal, and collected our minibus. As we drove out of the airport, a Red Kite flew over. Initially, we drove into Calvi and parked on the seafront near the harbour. While Paul went off to buy our picnic lunch, the rest of us explored the imposing citadel, reporting Yellow-legged Gulls, Italian Sparrows and a couple of Hummingbird Hawk Moths. We drove back in the direction of the Airport and on south to Suare, where we turned right onto the road to Galeria, where we parked and prepared our picnic. After lunch we explored the coastal habitats, finding the endemic Limonium corsicum (Corsican Sea Lavender), Erodium corsicum (Corsican Stork’s-bill), and Euphorbia pithyusa subsp. cupanii (A Spurge). The nearby road verge yielded a good show of Leucojum roseum (Rose Snowflake), Scilla autumnalis (Autumn Squill) and several spikes of Spiranthes spiralis (Autumn Ladies Tresses), as well as the stark white flowers of the wonderfully aromatic Myrtis communis (Myrtle).
