Box, Edward W25268 BLWt 26455-16065 d. 15 May 1857 m. Nancy ___ , 7 March 1842 While residing in Laurens County, he enlisted under Capt. Robert Manfield and Col. Worton. (Moved to Tenn.) Box, Lewis He served as a captain under Major Hicks and Col. LeRoy Hammond. (Johnson, William, S10918); (Elkin, Joshua, 510624). Moultrie and was in the battle at Fort Moultrie. In 1779, he was drafted under Col. Moultrie and Gen. Lincoln. He was taken prisoner in the fall of Charleston and held twenty-two days. Afterwards, he was drafted under Col. Maitland and was in the battle at Stono. Thereafter, he was under Capt. Elliott and Gen. Marion and was in several skirmishes. (Moved to N. C. and Tenn.) Boxall,John He enlisted in the Second Regiment on 4 November 1775. He was killed at Fort Moultrie on 28 January 1776. N.A.853. BOYAKIN, FRANCIS See FRANCIS BOYKIN. Boyce, Alexander He became a lieutenant in the Sixth Regiment during 1776 and was a captain on 27 June 1778. Boyce, John He was in the battles at Kings Mountain, Cowpens and Eutaw Springs. In addition, he lost three fingers when attacked by ‘Bloody Bill’ Cunningham. Landrum, p. 351. During 1779, he was a footman under Capt. Hugh Whiteside and a horseman under Capts. Mills and Knox. In addition, he served under Col. LeRoy Hammond prior to the fall of Charleston. Catherine Whitaker He served as a lieutenant in the first Regiment in June 1775 and was a captain in the Rangers under Capt. Eli Kershaw during 1775/1776. N.A.853. Bozeman, Ralph R1116 b. 1760, Bladen County. N. C. While residing in Williamsburg County, he enlisted during May 1777 under Gen. Marion, Col. John Lanford Dart, Maj. Benjamin Snipes and Capt. McCall. He was in the battles at Dorchester. Monck’s Corner, Black Mingo, Gen. Pickens‘s Lane. Mars Bluff, Camden and Eutaw Springs. (Moved to Ga. and Fla.)
