Christine: (Red) Good evening and welcome to Rose Tree Park! We are the Upper Darby Summer Stage SHOOTING STARS (Clap, Stomp) OK, guys, letʼs not get carried away! For the past 15 years, the Shooting Stars have been entertaining audiences all over the area and we are excited to be celebrating another Summer Stage night here at Rose Tree. Tonight we are excited to bring you some of our best songs and medleys from years past. Our next number was performed way back when the group was first started. Here now is hit song from the movie Sister Act 2, “Joyful Joyful.”

NARNIA CAST ENTER FROM SR Emily L.: (Yellow) The Shooting Stars stem from our Summer Stage program at Upper Darby High School where we are in full swing with successful runs of Disneyʼs Camp Rock and Mulan, Jr. Coming this week we are taking audiences on a journey to the magical land of Narnia, which tells the classic tale of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe! Here now are cast members performing “Itʼs Amazing What a Bit of Spring Can Do!”

Karen: (Black) Our next three numbers are some broadway favorites weʼve performed through the years. Composers Ahrens and Flaherty have created some memorable opening sequences to their Broadway productions. Here now is an excerpt from their musical Once On this Island. April: (Yellow) The musical All Shook Up takes the music of Elvis Presley and transforms it into an entertaining and hilarious story of how a run-down town is transformed when a motorcycle ridinʼ roustabout arrives. Here now is a hit song from All Shook Up, “Cʼmon Everybody!”

Chris: (Black) The timeless music of Billy Joel has entertained audiences around the globe for the past four decades and in 2002 was transformed into the broadway musical “Movinʼ Out!” Our following medley features songs from the show, and we are excited to be performing it again in Shooting Stars. Jason B.: (Red) The musical Wicked has been one of the top selling shows on Broadway for almost a decade. It is the story of the witches of Oz before Dorothy ever arrived. Here now are excerpts from our Wicked Medley last performed by the Shooting Stars 5 years ago, including the most memorable song from the broadway production “Defying Gravity.”

SHOOTING STARS EXIT SR AND TITANIC ACTORS GO TO ENTRANCE SPOTS FROM BACKSTAGE LEFT Jared: (Yellow) The year 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, one of the deadliest maritime disasters in history. This summer our mainstage program is honored to present the musical Titanic, which portrays the stories of the actual people who were aboard the ship when it first set sail on April 10, 1912. Here now to tell you more about this exciting production is director, Marcus Stevens.
