HIV COMMUNITY COALITIONS Following is a list of local community coalitions the Office of HIV/AIDS Services participates in.

Cuyahoga County HIV Prevention Regional Advisory Group The group is a community planning organization charged with evaluating and directing the delivery of HIV prevention services in Cuyahoga County to those populations at greatest risk.  The Project Director (Tammie Jones) is the co-chair of this group and assures compliance with Ohio Department of Health requirements.  Meets the second Thursday eight times a year at Trinity Lutheran Cathedral, 2230 Euclid Avenue, 5:30-7PM, call 216-420-8641 for more information

Ohio Community Planning Group The group develops and periodically updates a Comprehensive HIV Prevention Plan for the State of Ohio that directs ongoing prevention activities that are consistent with recognized needs and priorities.  The Project Director is a Technical Advisor and member of the PLWHA Prioritization Committee.  Meets Wednesday every other month in Columbus, Ohio at various locations, 10AM-3PM, call 216-420-8641 for more information

Cuyahoga Regional HIV Services Planning Council The Planning Council and Needs Assessment Committee develop a comprehensive plan for organizing and delivering HIV medical and support services; establishes priorities for the allocation of federal Ryan White Treatment Modernization Act within the Cleveland Transitional Grant Area consisting of Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties; and assess the efficiency of the mechanism to rapidly allocate funds.  The Director of Health co-chairs this group. Greater Cleveland Office of Reentry The Office of Reentry assists policymakers, community leaders and service providers in identifying reentry challenges facing Greater Cleveland. Fig. 5. Total syphilis for Cuyahoga County, by stage & year  Of the 135 cases in Cuyahoga County, only 79 (58%) were Cleveland residents, a new low since the outbreak began in 2007.

We attribute some of this decrease to more aggressive partner notification by our clinic investigative staff.

 51/135 (38%) were primary and secondary syphilis cases. o 94% were male (n=48), of which 41% (n=21) were co-infected with HIV.
