Several Suwanee-area artists are participating in the “painting for a purpose” program, including several with the North Gwinnett Arts Association and students in the North Gwinnett High School National Art Honor Society.

The exhibit will open at Sims Lake Park on Saturday, October 4. Wine, classic cars, and the best from some of Suwanee’s favorite restaurants are on this fall’s event menu. Recently the City and its employees have been putting more emphasis on being physically fit, too. Through an employee-managed program, Suwanee is working to create a culture of wellness and camaraderie.

In December 2012, the City of Suwanee relaunched and rebranded its employee wellness program. Editor’s note: Summer intern Harris Wilson, a sophomore at the University of Georgia, had so much fun following and writing about one of our public works staff members for the August issue of Connects that he volunteered to do a similar story about one of our police calls. Lee-Foon prides himself on the efficiency with which he officers. He apparently ended up being a “good luck charm” for one of dispatches accident reports.
