Matchday 17 TIM 2020-21 9 - 11 January 2021 09/01/2021 15:00 - CIRO VIGORITO BENEVENTO Vs ATALANTA Atalanta have won both of their Serie A TIM matches against Benevento: 1-0 in November 2017 in Bergamo and 3-0 in April 2018 at Ciro Vigorito. Atalanta have kept a clean sheet in both of their previous matches against Benevento in Serie A TIM: the Bergamaschi have faced only Frosinone (four) more times than the Campani (two) without ever conceding a goal in their history in the competition. Atalanta have lost only one of their last 25 games against newly-promoted sides in Serie A TIM (W19, D5), scoring 66 goals and conceding 16 in the process. Benevento lost 2-0 in their last home league game; they have only failed to score in two consecutive home games in Serie A TIM on one previous occasion: in their first three matches at Ciro Vigorito in the top-flight (September 2017). 09/01/2021 18:00 - LUIGI FERRARIS GENOA Vs Genoa are unbeaten in their last four Serie A TIM games against Bologna (W2, D2), after losing four of their previous six (W1, D1). Only in two of the last 14 Serie A TIM matches between Genoa and Bologna have both sides found the back of the net. Genoa have kept more clean sheets against Bologna in Serie A TIM than they have versus any other side (27 - 18 at home). Genoa are one of the two teams (level with Crotone) yet to keep a clean sheet at home in the current Serie A TIM season. Bologna have won only one of their last 12 Serie A TIM away games (D4, L7); however, after drawing 0-0 in their last match on the road, they could get two consecutive away clean sheets for the first time since September 2017 – doing so against Genoa in that run (1-0). Bologna have drawn each of their last five league games and they could equal their longest such streak in Serie A TIM: six in a row in 1980. Bologna are the only team in Serie this campaign to have at least three players with two or more goals scored that were born after 1/1/1998: Barrow, Svanberg and Tomiyasu. Bologna’s striker Rodrigo Palacio played his first 90 Serie A TIM games with Genoa; in Rossoblù he reached career-highs for both goals (19 in 2011/12) and assists (eight in 2010/11) in a single season in the competition.

AC Milan are unbeaten in their last 24 Serie A TIM home games against Torino (W16 D8), keeping 17 clean sheets in the process – the last Torino win in this exact fixture was back in March 1985: 1-0 thanks to a goal. After the defeat against Juventus, AC Milan could lose two Serie A TIM matches in a row for the first time since November 2019 (v Lazio and Juventus). Torino won 3-0 their last Serie A TIM away match and could win two such games in a row for the first time since November 2019. AC Milan have conceded at least two goals in each of their last three Serie A TIM home matches and could record four in a row for the first time since 1950. Torino have conceded 20 goals in the last 30 minutes of play, at least six more than any other side in Serie A TIM 2020/21. AC Milan have conceded seven of their last nine Serie A TIM goals in the second half, five of them in the first 20 minutes after the half-break. 10/01/2021 12:30 - OLIMPICO ROMA Vs INTER Inter and Roma have drawn each of their last five Serie A TIM matches: the last time two teams have drawn more games in a row in consecutive seasons in the competition was in 1995 (six, Napoli vs Torino). Matches between Roma and Inter have produced the most goals in Serie A TIM history, 503 in 174 games: 224 for the Giallorossi and 279 for the Nerazzurri (a record for a team against a single opponent in the competition). Inter have won only one of their last 11 Serie A TIM away games against Roma (D5 L5), winning 3-1 in August 2017 under . Roma are unbeaten in their last 12 league home games (W9 D3), their longest streak since February 2017 (24 unbeaten). Inter have lost their last league game after going unbeaten in their previous 11 matches (W9 D2); they have lost two games in a row in Serie A TIM only once under , losing vs Lazio and Juventus in February/March 2020. Roma have scored 3+ first half goals in three Serie A TIM matches this season, including their most recent match, last doing so four times in a season in 1999/00 (4). Inter have scored the most goals from corners (seven) and headers (eight) in Serie A TIM this season, including 's goal against Sampdoria in their last match. 10/01/2021 15:00 - MARCANTONIO BENTEGODI HELLAS VERONA Vs CROTONE Crotone are the only team against which Verona have never scored in their Serie A TIM history; in the previous two matches one draw (0-0) at Scida in August 2017 and one defeat (0-3) at Bentegodi in January 2018. Verona have won each of their three Serie A TIM home games against newly promoted sides under Ivan Juric, scoring an average of 2.7 goals per match - the last Gialloblù manager to enjoy a longer such streak was Attilio Perotti, in March 2001, with four home wins in a row against newly promoted teams. Verona have lost two of their last three Serie A TIM games against teams bottom of the league table at the start of the matchday (W1): a 2-0 defeat against Brescia in July and 1-0 defeat vs in October. Verona have lost three of their last four Serie A TIM home games (D1), after having gone unbeaten in each of their previous five, conceding just one goal (W4 D1 - also includes the awarded win against Roma). Crotone have lost at least six of their first eight Serie A TIM away games in each of their three top-flight appearances (D2 L6 in 2020/21). Lazio have only lost one of their last 11 Serie A TIM away matches against Parma (W5 D5), having won each of the last three with an aggregate score of 5-1. Parma have lost eight of their last nine Serie A TIM matches against sides from Lazio (W1), scoring seven goals and conceding 19 in the process. Parma have failed to score in their last five Serie A TIM home games: the last non-promoted side to fail to score in more successive Serie A TIM matches at home was Inter in May 1977 (six). Lazio have picked up only two points in their last three Serie A TIM away matches (D2 L1) - they last played more away league games in a row without a single win in March 2016 (six draws under Pioli). Parma have scored the fewest goals in Serie A TIM this season and for the first time in their Serie A TIM history they have only scored 13 goals in their first 16 matches. 10/01/2021 18:00 - FIORENTINA Vs CAGLIARI Cagliari are unbeaten in their five matches against Fiorentina in Serie A TIM (W3, D2), winning 5-2 in the reverse fixture last season: only against Varese in 1968 (6-1) have the Sardi scored more goals in a single match in the competition. Fiorentina and Cagliari could draw three games in a row in Tuscany for the second time in Serie A TIM: the first occurrence was in 1982, in January. Fiorentina have drawn four Serie A TIM home games for the first time since March 2019 (five in that case), under . Since the beginning of 2020, Cagliari have won only two away games in the top-flight (D7, L10): fewer than any other side in the last two Serie A TIM seasons. In this match, will register his 200th game as Fiorentina manager in the top-flight. Only five other managers have reached this milestone with a single team in Serie A TIM in the era of three points for a win: with Milan (283), with Juventus (258), with Genoa (232), with Inter (217) and Luciano Spalletti with Roma (211). Cagliari are the team against which Cesare Prandelli has won the most home games as Fiorentina boss in Serie A TIM, winning each of his five matches at Franchi between 2005 and 2009. Dusan Vlahovic has scored in four of his last five Serie A TIM appearances: the first of his two braces in the competition came against Cagliari in November 2019 on the road. 10/01/2021 20:45 - ALLIANZ STADIUM JUVENTUS Vs SASSUOLO Juventus have only lost one of their 14 Serie A TIM meetings with Sassuolo (W10 D3) and have beaten them the most often in the competition (10) with 35 goals conceded by the Neroverdi (fewer only than against Atalanta, 36). Sassuolo have picked up only one point in seven Serie A TIM away meetings against Juventus via last season’s match (2-2, December 2019), in which they scored as many goals as in the previous six games at the Stadium. Juventus have won only four of their first seven Serie A TIM home matches in a season for the first time since 2015/16, when they eventually won eight. Sassuolo haven’t repeated the same results in two successive games in their last 12 league matches, winning the last one against Genoa (2-1). Juventus could win three Serie A TIM games in a row for the first time since July 2020 (seven).

In the last five MDs, Juventus have scored each of their 12 league goals from open play: only Udinese (4/4) have also scored each of their goals from this situation in the same period. Sassuolo have collected 29 points and scored 29 goals after 16 Serie A TIM games for the first time in their history: their record in the first half of a season (after 19 MDs) is 31 points (2015/16). Juventus’ has scored four goals in his last five Serie A TIM appearances; he could find the net in three successive league matches for the first time in the competition. Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first Serie A TIM goals when Juventus beat Sassuolo 2-1 in September 2018 (a brace); he has scored four goals against them in four meetings in the competition. Sassuolo’s striker Francesco Caputo has been involved in five goals in four Serie A TIM matches against Juventus (three goals and two assists) – against no other side has he managed more.

11/01/2021 20:45 - ALBERTO PICCO SPEZIA Vs SAMPDORIA Spezia v Sampdoria will be the 91st Serie A TIM meeting between teams from Liguria: the home side has only won two of the last 17 such games (D5 L10). Sampdoria will be the eighth different side from Liguria faced by Spezia across Serie A TIM and Serie B – courtesy of the 1-2 loss in December against Genoa, they stopped an eight-match run without a defeat in such games. Sampdoria are unbeaten in six of their seven Serie A TIM meetings against promoted sides under Ranieri (W4 D2 L1), after having lost three of the previous four (D1) under Di Francesco (one) and Giampaolo (two). Spezia have yet to win two Serie A TIM games in a row: including Serie B playoffs, they last won two successive league matches in August 2020. Sampdoria have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 18 Serie A TIM away matches: they last had a longer run in 1956 (24 in a row). Sampdoria and Spezia are two of the three sides (level with Cagliari) to have conceded the most goals from set-piece situations in Serie A TIM this season (11 each). Spezia’s manager drew each of his three Serie A TIM games against Sampdoria as a player – they are the side against which he has drawn the most games in the competition. Sampdoria’s has scored six goals in his last five Serie A TIM games against promoted sides, finding the net in each of the two matches this term (two goals). Sampdoria’s Keita Baldé has found the net in his last two Serie A TIM games and could score in three in a row in league competition for the first time since February 2018 (for Monaco).
