Predictive Direct Flux Control—A New Control Method of Voltage Source Inverters in Distributed Generation Applications
energies Article Predictive Direct Flux Control—A New Control Method of Voltage Source Inverters in Distributed Generation Applications Jiefeng Hu Department of Electrical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, China; [email protected]; Tel.: +852-2766-6140 Academic Editor: Frede Blaabjerg Received: 16 February 2017; Accepted: 21 March 2017; Published: 23 March 2017 Abstract: Voltage source inverters (VSIs) have been widely utilized in electric drives and distributed generations (DGs), where electromagnetic torque, currents and voltages are usually the control objectives. The inverter flux, defined as the integral of the inverter voltage, however, is seldom studied. Although a conventional flux control approach has been developed, it presents major drawbacks of large flux ripples, leading to distorted inverter output currents and large power ripples. This paper proposes a new control strategy of VSIs by controlling the inverter flux. To improve the system’s steady-state and transient performance, a predictive control scheme is adopted. The flux amplitude and flux angle can be well regulated by choosing the optimum inverter control action according to formulated selection criteria. Hence, the inverter flux can be controlled to have a specified magnitude and a specified position relative to the grid flux with less ripples. This results in a satisfactory line current performance with a fast transient response. The proposed predictive direct flux control (PDFC) method is tested in a 3 MW high-power grid-connected VSI system in the MATLAB/Simulink environment, and the results demonstrate its effectiveness. Keywords: voltage source inverter (VSI); predictive control; inverter flux 1. Introduction Pulse width modulation (PWM) voltage source inverters (VSIs) have been widely used in power electronics, and their control has been extensively studied in the last decades. -

Backpacking: Bird Knob
1 © 1999 Troy R. Hayes. All rights reserved. Preface As a new Scoutmaster, I wanted to take my troop on different kinds of adventure. But each trip took a tremendous amount of preparation to discover what the possibilities were, to investigate them, to pick one, and finally make the detailed arrangements. In some cases I even made a reconnaissance trip in advance in order to make sure the trip worked. The Pathfinder is an attempt to make this process easier. A vigorous outdoor program is a key element in Boy Scouting. The trips described in these pages range from those achievable by eleven year olds to those intended for fourteen and up (high adventure). And remember what the Irish say: The weather determines not whether you go, but what clothing you should wear. My Scouts have camped in ice, snow, rain, and heat. The most memorable trips were the ones with "bad" weather. That's when character building best occurs. Fishing Regulations JANUARY - DECEMBER 2004
WEST VIRGINIA Fishing Regulations JANUARY - DECEMBER 2004 West Virginia Division of Natural Resources D I Investment in a Legacy --------------------------- S West Virginia’s anglers enjoy a rich sportfishing legacy and conservation ethic that is maintained T through their commitment to our state’s fishery resources. Recognizing this commitment, the R Division of Natural Resources endeavors to provide a variety of quality fishing opportunities to meet I increasing demands, while also conserving and protecting the state’s valuable aquatic resources. One way that DNR fulfills this part of its mission is through its fish hatchery programs. Many anglers are C aware of the successful trout stocking program and the seven coldwater hatcheries that support this T important fishery in West Virginia. The warmwater hatchery program, although a little less well known, is still very significant to West Virginia anglers. O West Virginia’s warmwater hatchery program has been instrumental in providing fishing opportunities F to anglers for more than 60 years. For most of that time, the Palestine State Fish Hatchery was the state’s primary facility dedicated to the production of warmwater fish. Millions of walleye, muskellunge, channel catfish, hybrid striped bass, saugeye, tiger musky, and largemouth F and smallmouth bass have been raised over the years at Palestine and stocked into streams, rivers, and lakes across the state. I A recent addition to the DNR’s warmwater hatchery program is the Apple Grove State Fish Hatchery in Mason County. Construction of the C hatchery was completed in 2003. It was a joint project of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the DNR as part of a mitigation agreement E for the modernization of the Robert C. -
