  • Winners of the Pearson Trophy
The Pearson Trophy The first 100 Years Foreword by Anne Cotton Chairman of the Pearson Trophy Management Committee 2011 marks the Centenary of The Pearson Trophy – a competition that has given great pleasure to countless golfers from Herts, Kent, Middlesex and Surrey over the past hundred years. The competition has grown from an entry of 12 clubs in its inaugural year to 176 in 2010. This year’s entry of 179 clubs has exceeded all previous records and shows that the competition continues to grow in popularity. A tremendous amount of hard work goes into running the Pearson Trophy every year, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Managers and their Deputies from the four counties for all they do to make the competition such a success. I would also like to thank them for the help they have given me in compiling this booklet. I hope you will all enjoy reading this short history of the Pearson Trophy. Let us hope that the competition continues for another hundred years, allowing future generations of lady golfers to derive pleasure from playing on other courses and making new friendships through participating in this very special event. Issette Pearson (1861-1941) Issette Pearson was 4) To promote and born at Gatcombe House fund an annual in Totnes, Devon, in championship 1861. When she was tournament four years old her family moved to Birkenhead, The inaugural British where her father set up A portrait of ISSETTE PEARSON Women’s Championship in her early thirties a successful insurance followed in June of the business.

  • Inter County Tournament Basingstoke Aquadrome 22Nd June 2019
SUSSEX ASA JUNIOR WATER POLO UNDER 19 (2001 & YOUNGER) INTER COUNTY TOURNAMENT BASINGSTOKE AQUADROME 22ND JUNE 2019 The Sussex under 19 boy’s squad travelled to the Basingstoke Aquadrome to defend the inter-county championship title that they won last year. Unfortunately, a number of the boys in the county were unavailable on this date, but we still had a strong squad of 9 players who we were sure would put up a good defence of the title. The squad in full was as follows; - 1. Owen Peel 2. Oscar Silk 3. Josh Coulson 4. Akos Hausknecht 5. Elliot Hurst 6. Josh Luff 7. Jamie Bond 8. Harrison Peel 9. Zach Kingett The individual match reports are as follows; - Sussex 8, Surrey 4 (half time 5-2) This was a match that we really controlled throughout but we contrived to miss on many occasions when we really should have scored, and this kept Surrey in the game. Ultimately, we should have won by more but we were always in control and at times we played with some real quality. Scorers; - Harrison 4, Josh L 2, Jamie 1, Elliot 1. Exclusions; - Elliot 1, Josh L 1. Sussex 11, Hampshire 1 (half time 6-0) A very comfortable win in a game when our combination of a high tempo pressing defence and a direct counter-attack was too much for the opposition. We managed the game well in the second half to try and rest players in advance of what looked to be a difficult final match. Scorers; - Jamie 4, Harrison 3, Elliot 2, Akos 1, Zach 1.

  • Welcome to the Provisional BUCS Leagues Document for 2019-20 (V8 Released 16/12/19)
Welcome to the provisional BUCS leagues document for 2019-20 (V8 released 16/12/19) This first worksheet is a guide to the shadings used throughout the document to denote promoted/relegated/reshuffled/new/withdrawn teams. Please note that in most cases, leagues of 6 teams or less will meet each opposition twice (home and away), whilst leagues of 7 - 10 teams will meet each opposition once (home or away). Exceptions to this include the Premier Tier of Men’s Rugby Union, and in all sports (except Cricket) where a Tier 1 league has 7 teams, in which case in all of these leagues teams will be scheduled to meet each opposition twice (home and away).” You may notice that a few key sports are missing (American Football, Equestrian & Indoor Cricket). This is because the format of these leagues are currently being reviewed or still being finalised. Therefore we will be releasing these provisional leagues at a later date. Thank you for your patience with this. Please direct all feedback and queries to your regional competition representative in the first instance. They will be collating and organising the feedback before sending it back to BUCS. Please discuss possible contradictions/actions with all parties involved before submitting the feedback back to your regional rep. All feedback will be discussed in the BUCS Office and although we will try to accommodate where possible/appropriate, please note that changes are not guaranteed. Please note that changes relating to late results or incorrect score adjustments from the 2018-19 season will NOT be accommodated, as all BUCS leagues have now been locked as final.
