News from the Hockey Commissioners Association For immediate release: Wednesday, March 3, 2021 Badgers’ Holloway, Northeastern’s Mueller Pace February Honorees Another month of outstanding college hockey performances are in the book. Here are the monthly honors for men’s and women’s NCAA Division I hockey. Men’s Player of the Month: Dylan Holloway, SO Forward, University of Wisconsin (Bragg Creek, AB) No one did it better in the Badgers 6-1-1 month than Dylan Hol- loway. In leading the NCAA with 17 points (6-11-17), he came through against a tough schedule that included four games against highly ranked Minnesota and Michigan. Highlighting the month: in an 8-1 win at the then #2 Gophers, he went 1-4-5. He also scored both goals in a 2-1 OT win against Ohio State. Runners-Up: • Andre Ghantous, SO F, Northern Michigan (Glendale, CA) (10 GP, 5-11-16, 1.6 PPG) • Odeen Tufto, SR F, Quinnipiac (Chaska, MN) (7 GP, 1-11-12, 1.7 PPG) Women’s Player of the Month: Alina Mueller, JR Forward, Northeastern (Winterthur, Switzerland) Mueller averaged 2.3 points per game in Northeastern’s perfect 7-0 month. She went 4-12-16 which, along with her season-long production, made her one of three Huskies among the ten Patty Kazmaier Award finalists. She is also one of three finalists for the Cammi Granato Award given to the Hockey East Player of the Year. • Kiara Zanon, FR F, Penn State (Fairport, NY) (8 GP, 4-10-14) • Jessica DiGirolamo, SR D, Syracuse (Mississauga, ONT) (10 GP, 8-4-12) • Runners-Up: Grace Zumwinkle, SR F, Minnesota (Excelsior, MN) (6 GP, 7-4-11) Rookie of the Month and Goaltender of the Month can be found on Page Two. Runner-Up: Vinny Duplessis, FR G, Boston University (Quebec City, PQ) (5 GP, 1.66 GAA, .939 Pct.) Women’s Rookie of the Month: Lacey Eden, FR Forward, Wisconsin (Annapolis, MD) Joining the nation’s Number 1 team in mid-season, Lacey Eden has served no- tice on the rest of the WCHA that the best just got better. She had a line of 3-4-7 in six games for the Badgers, four of those coming on the road against nationally ranked opponents Minnesota and Minnesota-Duluth. Runner-Up: Olivia Mobley, FR F, Quinnipiac (St. Louis Park, MN) (7 GP, 1.39 GAA, .938 Pct.) Men’s Co-Goaltender of the Month: Adam Scheel, JR G, North Dakota (Lakewood, OH) Scheel led the NCAA in goals against average (1.01) and save percentage (.960) in February. He allowed only four goals in his four starts to go 4-0-0 and posted three wins over a national- ly-ranked team (Omaha). In the process, he helped North Dakota clinch back-to-back Penrose Cups as NCHC regular-season champions Men’s Co-Goaltender of the Month: Trevin Kozlowski, SR G, Army West Point (Los Angeles, CA) Kozlowski -went 7-0-0 for Army and is unbeaten in his last 11 starts. He was one of three goal- ies to go undefeated in February and had the second most wins nationally. He was also sixth in save percentage (.942) and second in GAA (1.28). Kozlowski allowed two or fewer goals in six of seven games and recorded his first shutout against LIU this past weekend. Runner-Up: Keith Petruzzelli, SR G, Quinnipiac (Wilbraham, MA) (6 GP, 2-4-6, 1.0 PPG) Women’s Goaltender of the Month: Aerin Frankel, SR Goalie, Northeastern (Briarcliff Manor, NY) Frankel was again other worldly in February and repeats as Goaltender of the Month. She led the Huskies to a perfect 7-0 record with phenomenal numbers: a 0.57 GAA and a save percentage of .972. She is the only goaltender among this year’s ten Patty Kazmaier Award Finalists and she is one of thre e finalists for the Cammi Granato Award given to the Hockey East Player of the Year.
