Fall Family Weekend 2018 Schedule Friday, September 28, 2018 Registration Auburn Alumni Center | 317 South College Street 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. At registration, you will pick up your Fall Family Weekend wristband for access to events over the next two days. Student Center Tours Event sponsored by: Student Center Operations Student Center | 255 Heisman Drive 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Student Center Operations will host 2 tours of the facility on Friday September 28th, 2018. Tours will start at the Foy Information Desk on the 2nd floor of the Student Center. Tours will last approximately 30-45 minutes. Medical Clinic Tours Event sponsored by: Auburn University Medical Clinic Auburn University Medical Clinic | 400 Lem Morrison Drive 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Come tour the Auburn University Medical Clinic with Medical Director, Dr. Fred Kam and other members of the clinic's administration. There will be (2) 30-minute tours offered followed a Q&A session hosted by Dr. Kam. Navigate: Live! – Guiding Your Student to Academic Success Event sponsored by: First Year Experience, Parent and Family Programs Mell Classroom Building 4150 2:00-3:00 p.m. Midterms and class registration will be right around the corner during Family Weekend, so it’s a perfect time to help your student think about how to finish the fall strong and to plan for their spring and future semesters. Join representatives from Academic Advising, Academic Support, and First Year Experience for a live broadcast of Navigate, the award-winning webinar series for Auburn families! There will be a brief presentation followed by a Q&A session from our panel of experts so bring your academic questions. Honors Center Open House Event sponsored by: The Honors College Broun Residence Hall Basement (Upper Quad) | 246 Mell Street 2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. The Honors College invites parents and students to come over and see the newly renovated Honors Center. At this event attendees will meet the new Honors College Director and hear her vision for the future of honors education at Auburn University. Light refreshments will be provided. Fall Family Weekend Open House Event sponsored by: School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences Main Atrium | 602 Duncan Drive 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. See what is new in the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences! Join the us for an Open House showcasing school activities, majors, student organizations and research. Tours of the building will be available to include our new professors' wall of expertise! Light refreshments will be provided. This is Auburn Lecture Series Event sponsored by: Auburn Athletics, OCM, Auburn Alumni Auburn Alumni Center Godwin Room | 317 South College Street 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. This is Auburn Speaker Series features speakers with a connection to Auburn University who speak on a wide range of topics relating to Auburn people, history, sports, programs, and research. College of Education Ice Cream Social Event sponsored by: College of Education Haley Center Concourse | 351 Thach Concourse 3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Stop by the Haley Center concourse to get the scoop on the College of Education and a free cup of Bruster's Ice Cream. Student Counseling and Psychological Services Open House, hosted by Dr. Moose Event sponsored by: Student Counseling and Psychological Services Haley Center Ground Floor | 351 Thach Concourse 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Dr. Moose, a golden Labrador and the therapy dog at Student Counseling and Psychological Services (SCPS), would like to invite parents to meet him and tour the new second location of SCPS. SCPS is excited to show off this newly-renovated space, as it completes the main objective of the campus Mental Health Task-force: to expand the mental health support services and make them more convenient to students. In addition to meeting our furry friend, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the facility, meet the SCPS's human staff, check out the Zen Den, and nosh on light snacks while learning about the services offered at SCPS. Samuel Ginn College of Engineering Open House Event sponsored by: Samuel Ginn College of Engineering Shelby Center Lowe Foyer | 345 West Magnolia Avenue 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering will be hosting an open house for our student's parents and families. The open house will consist of student-led Cupola tours that are approximately one hour. The tours will leave the Lowe Grand Foyer of the Shelby Center at 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. A representative from each department will be available to answer questions. Light refreshments will be provided. War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen Walking Tours Event sponsored by: Auburn Athletics, War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen Auburn Alumni Center | 317 South College Street 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Get to know campus by foot on a walking tour led by Auburn's student representatives, the War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen. Tours will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Auburn Alumni Center. Tours can be directed to Jordan-Hare Stadium for locker room tours, or back to the Alumni Center. History of the Auburn Creed and its Author, George Petrie Event sponsored by: Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities at Pebble Hill Pebble Hill | 101 S. Debardeleben Street 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Visit Pebble Hill to learn about the history of the Auburn Creed and its author, Dr. George Petrie. Author Mike Jernigan will discuss his book Auburn Man: The Life and Times of George Petrie. Parents and family members of Auburn students will receive a 30% discount. Participants will also receive a tour of the historic Scott-Yarbrough House (1847) at Pebble Hill, the oldest house in Auburn. Free parking is available, and the program will end in time for participants to walk from Pebble Hill to attend the 6:00 p.m. Homecoming Parade downtown. Locker Room Tours Event sponsored by: Auburn Athletics Jordan-Hare Stadium | 251 South Donahue Drive, Gate 10 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Experience the pre-game locker room setup for the Auburn football team at Jordan Hare-Stadium! Please note that the time and gate location of this event could change depending on final stadium renovations. Check back soon for finalized details. Tiger Cage and Auburn Research Park Tailgate Event sponsored by: TigerCage and Auburn Research & Technology Foundation Research Park | 570 Devall Drive 4:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Join Auburn TigerCage teams and Research Park tenants at an Entrepreneurship and Innovation tailgate! Family Shopping Night Event sponsored by: Auburn University Bookstore Auburn University Bookstore | 351 Thach Concourse 5:00-7:00 p.m. The Bookstore will host an extended-hours shopping event for those participating in Fall Family Weekend on Friday, September 28. Homecoming Parade & Pep Rally Event sponsored by: Student Government Association Downtown Auburn 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. The annual Homecoming Parade allows the Auburn community to celebrate alumni returning home and to build spirit for the Homecoming football game the next day. The Auburn University Homecoming Parade features floats from on and off-campus organizations, the Auburn University Cheerleaders, Tiger Paws, and the Auburn University Marching Band. The parade begins at 6:00 p.m., completing a short loop around downtown Auburn before concluding with a pep rally around 6:30 p.m. on Samford Lawn. The best location to view the parade is on College Street in front of Samford Hall. 18th Annual Blue Jean Ball - Celebrating 40 Years of Nursing Event sponsored by: AU School of Nursing and AUM School of Nursing Pat Dye's Crooked Oaks Hunting Lodge | 768 Red Creek Road, Notasulga, Alabama 36866 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Join the AU School of Nursing and AUM School of Nursing for their 18th Annual Blue Jean Ball - Celebrating 40 Years of Nursing at Pat Dye's Crooked Oaks Hunting Lodge in Notasulga, AL. Entertainment will include a live auction, Aubie, Curtiss the Warhawk, Birds of Prey from AU College of Vet Med's Southeastern Raptor Center and mule-drawn and haflinger-drawn wagon rides.
