When Laura gave birth, Tom refused to recognize Millie as his daughter, and Millie took the name Cox. Millie grew up into a beautiful woman with a true talent. She used her gift and became a singing sensation, touring nightclubs around the world. No longer was she Millie Cox, nobody. She was Dominique Deveraux, somebody. She met Garrett Boydston in 1965 and fell in love. Garrett loved Dominique, but couldn't make a commitment, and lied to her about having a wife named Jessica. Later, Dominique gave birth to a daughter, Jacqueline ("Jackie"). Dominique met record executive Brady Lloyd, and the two got married in 1973. Brady nurtured Dominque's career and helped her turn into one of the most powerful women in the entertainment industry. Dominique's wealth flourished. She now owned hotels and recording studios, and no longer had to do the circuit. Her records went gold and platinum, and she had fans across the globe. Although she loved Brady and Jackie dearly, she craved one more thing: To be recognized as a Carrington. Dominique came to Denver in 1984 and cornered , Tom's oldest son. Blake was in financial ruins at the time and, although he would accept Dominique's money, he wouldn't accept her as his sister. Dominique's obsession with the Carrington name took its toll on her marriage, and she and Brady went separate ways. As if by fate, Tom Carrington shortly after suffered a heart attack, and when Blake went to Sumatra to visit him one last time, the old man gave in and made a deathbed confession: Dominique was his daughter, and Blake was to take care of her. She was now an accepted part of the family, and welcomed into their home, however she had already made a powerful enemy in . The following year, Dominique was reunited with Garrett, who now represented Jason Colby. Within a few months, Jackie came home from boarding school. When Garrett and Jackie met, Garrett inquired as to Jackie's parentage. When Dominique finally admitted that Garrett was Jackie's father, Jackie set out to reunite her parents. Dominique and Garrett set a wedding date, but failed to meet it when Dominique found out that Garrett had lied to her all those years ago. Tragedy followed as Jackie was trapped and heavily burned in the fire at La Mirage. Dominique continued running her business both with the Carringtons in Denver and in LA, but to help Blake in his battle against Alexis, she sold her record company, Titania Records, to Zach Powers. Spite all the feuding, love blossomed for Dominique and the new man in her life, Nick Kimball. In 1987, they got married and left Denver. Contents. Season four [ edit | edit source ] Successful and wealthy chanteuse Dominique Deveraux arrives in Denver in "New Lady in Town" (1984) with a flourish, asking Fallon Carrington questions about her mother, Alexis Colby. In the next episode, the fourth season finale, Dominique wonders aloud to herself, “ Won't it just knock their socks off when they find out I'm a Carrington? ” Season five [ edit | edit source ] Dominique's husband Brady Lloyd arrives in Denver in the September 26, 1984 season premiere episode, "Disappearance." He asks why Dominique is performing at La Mirage. Brady and Dominique fight when she will not tell him why she is choosing to remain in Denver. Dominique's hostility toward oil tycoon Blake Carrington is noticed by Blake's wife Krystle. Following Fallon's memorial service in "The Rescue", Dominique makes the shocking claim that she is the daughter of Blake's father Tom Carrington and his longtime mistress, Laura Matthews, and offers proof (found in a letter in an old trunk left in the care of Laura's sister Bessie), therefore making her Blake's half-sister. A financially strapped Blake makes a business deal with the very wealthy Dominique: Forty percent of Denver-Carrington in exchange for 70 million dollars. This subsequently makes Dominique an enemy of Alexis Colby, who has been scheming to destroy her ex-husband Blake. When Brady learns the truth, he is furious that Dominique didn't confide in him earlier. As Blake's business partner, Dominique travels to Istanbul to meet with the shady Rashid Ahmed in order to help Blake obtain a confession from him. Despite this assistance, in episode 100, Blake tells Dominique that Tom denies that he is her father. Furious, Dominique instigates a lawsuit against Blake for misappropriation of company funds after Blake uses some of the money she invested in Denver-Carrington to prevent losing his mansion. However, episode 102, "The Will", Dominique and Blake visit their father Tom on his deathbed in Sumatra; Alexis, a favorite of Tom's, follows them. Tom meets his illegitimate daughter Dominique for the first time, and she convinces him to accept her. Tom dies, but not before including Dominique in his will, as well as making her the executor, which further infuriates Alexis (who is also a beneficiary). In episode 103, "The Treasure", Blake and Dominique discuss the matter between them and Blake finally acknowledges her as his half-sister. Dominique, in a show of gratitude, tells Blake that she has dropped her lawsuit against him. Later on, Blake summons Alexis to his office and tells her that if she persists in trying to break Tom's will, he will put his support firmly behind Dominique. Furthermore, he reiterates the fact that she is now family and that he will fight to the death for her. Alexis concedes to Blake's demands, but tells him she'll find a way to destroy Dominique regardless. Later that evening at the Carrington mansion, Blake holds a dinner gathering to formally welcome Dominique into the family. Adam goes out of his way to welcome her as well and Dominique is overcome with emotion. Later on, Amanda tells Alexis about the gathering and that she is proud to have Dominique as her new aunt, much to Alexis' annoyance. Alexis then places a call to one of her associates and orders him to find out everything he can about Dominique. In episode 108, Dominique learns that Brady has filed for divorce and that Alexis is attempting to take over her company, Deveraux Group, Inc., after which she collapses. At the hospital Dominique learns that she needs heart surgery. She pulls through her illness and becomes closer to Blake and Krystle. Although the divorce goes through, Brady refuses to sell his shares in Deveraux Group, Inc. to Alexis, foiling the takeover. Noticing that famed photojournalist Lady Ashley Mitchell appears to have designs on Blake, she warns Ashley to keep away and advises Krystle to watch out. Dominique is among the family guests invited to Moldavia to celebrate the wedding of her niece, Amanda, to Prince Michael, where a military coup takes place and insurgents take over the chapel and gun down the entire wedding party. Season six (Dynasty) / Season one (The Colbys) [ edit | edit source ] Dominique survives the wedding massacre, and rejects an offer by the rebel leader to remain in Moldavia to "entertain the troops and improve morale". Back in Denver, Dominique works with Blake on a pipeline deal with Jason Colby. She encounters Jonathan Lake, a state department employee, who reminds Dominique that they met years ago in Paris. Romance seems to be blossoming between the pair, but then a man from her past returns: Garrett Boydston, Jason Colby's lawyer. Garrett tries to rekindle their romance, but Dominque is resistant. Years earlier, Dominique and Garrett had an affair. At the time, Garrett claimed that he was married and refused to leave his wife. Dominique is torn between the two men until she learns that Jonathan has aligned himself with Bart Fallmont, a politician who is fighting the pipeline project. Dominique travels frequently to Los Angeles, and hires to help run her L.A.-based record company. While there, she continues to see Garrett. He cannot understand her reluctance to resume their relationship. In episode 134, Dominique's daughter, Jackie visits her mother and asks to remain in Denver instead of returning to finishing school in Lausanne, Switzerland. In episode 136, Garrett meets Jackie and is immediately convinced that he is her father. Garrett presses Dominique but she continues to deny that he is Jackie's father. Jackie, who would like to see her mother married and happy, also wonders about the true nature of their relationship. In episode 143, Jackie runs away when she learns that her father is listed as "unknown" on her birth certificate. Alexis encounters Jackie and manipulates the girl into telling her troubles. Dominique finally admits to Garrett that he is indeed Jackie's father. Jackie returns home in episode 145 and finally learns that Garrett is her father. Dominique and Garrett decide to marry. In the season finale, at their engagement party Alexis reveals that Garrett was never married before. He lied in order to avoid a long-term relationship. Dominique slaps Alexis and orders her to leave. She confronts Garrett with the story who admits that he lied so many years ago. Stunned, Dominique breaks off the engagement. Her guests continue to celebrate, unaware that the wedding is cancelled — or that a fire is raging in other parts of the hotel. Season seven (Dynasty) / Season two (The Colbys) [ edit | edit source ] During the fire, Dominique panics when she cannot find Jackie. manages to rescue Jackie, but she is badly burned. Jackie provides eye witness testimony to the cause of the fire, before leaving Denver for state-of-the-art burn treatment. During this time, Dominique helps Blake to fight Alexis, who has taken over Blake's company with the assistance of their estranged brother, Ben. She also attempts to revive her singing career. When a bad review appears in Alexis's newspaper, Dominique goes to confront her in episode 160 and a cat fight ensues. In episode 154, Dominique meets geologist Nick Kimball, who romantically pursues her. Dominique resists him at first, but by episode 158 she gives in to his advances and they share a passionate night together. In episode 163, Nick saves Dominique from two thugs who were sent by businessman Gary Tilden to "rough her up" after she rejected a business deal from Tilden. But Dominique is still restrained about their relationship - and draws closer to Alexis's ex-husband Dex. Nick returns in episode 173 to whisk Dominique off for a romantic weekend in San Francisco, where he proposes. While Dominique contemplates marrying Nick, Jackie returns to Denver to tell her mother that Garrett is still in love with her. In episode 175, Jackie asks Nick to break it off with Dominique. When Dominique states that she will not get back together with Garrett, a defeated Jackie leaves Denver again. In episode 176, the season finale, Dominique and Nick attend the wedding of her nephew, Adam. After the ceremony, Dominique accepts his proposal and the two leave Denver. Season nine [ edit | edit source ] Though not physically seen after Season Seven, Dominique (having revived her singing career touring Europe) was mentioned in Season Nine as Blake investigated the murder of Roger Grimes. Blake visited Dominique's uncle Charles Matthews, brother to her mother Laura. Charles and his wife Jane later provided Blake with some of his father's belongings, left with them by Laura and then Bessie for safekeeping. Lisa Barnsworth (Obsession: Her Final Vengeance) Lisa Barnsworth (Anastasia Phillips) was the main villainess from Obsession: Her Final Vengeance , the third and final film from Lifetime's Obsession Thrillogy (trilogy airdates July 10-12, 2020). She appeared in the other two Obsession films, Stalked by My Lover and Escaping My Ex , before her heel turn in Her Final Vengeance. Contents. Introduction. Lisa Barnsworth is the older sister of Nicholas Barnsworth (aka Blake Collins; the overarching villain of the first two films), and she was briefly shown in the first film calling her brother from inside a psychiatric ward. She was out of the ward entering the events of the second film, while living with her husband, Robbie Porter; and she had learned about Blake escaping prison after his arrest in the end of the first film. Lisa also found out about Blake's plan to escape with ex-girlfriend Madison Turner (the trilogy's main protagonist) when she found a pair of passports with their photos inside. She later lashed out at Blake for escaping with Madison and not her, only for Blake to profess that he loved Madison, despite the fact that he used Madison to rob her wealthy sister, Evie. Heel Turn. Lisa's heel turn in Obsession: Her Final Vengeance. The second film ended with Blake stabbed to death by Madison in self defense, and in the opening of the third and final film, Lisa and Robbie argued over Blake, with the latter reminding his wife that her brother was deranged and crazy. Lisa refused to allow Robbie to talk about Blake in such a manner, and then revealed to Robbie that she lied about being pregnant to trick Robbie into marrying him. Lisa began turning heel afterwards by attacking (and later killing) Robbie with a knife, and her heel turn was cemented when she decided to target Madison, as she blamed her for her brother's death. Her sinister plan included getting herself hired as a nurse at a psychiatric hospital, doing so under the name Courtney Anderson, and she later met Madison during a meeting with fellow trauma survivors and befriended her. All the while, she also got close to a patient, Bethany, and told her about Madison's role in her brother's death, but twisted the events to portray Blake as an innocent man who loved Madison, while Madison was a cruel villainess who killed him in cold blood. In addition, the evil Lisa attempted to destroy Madison's budding relationship with Wesley Summers, doing so by setting up an account in his name on a dating website, with Madison seeing the site and becoming outraged. The villainess also attacked Wesley outside his resturant, leaving him hospitalized, and sabotaged both Madison and Bethany's medications, causing Bethany to have manic episodes and Madison to actually faint while giving a presentation. She continued manipulating Bethany by stating that Madison was a bad person just like Bethany's sister, Charlotte (Bethany had attacked Charlotte with a knife due to her belief that Charlotte had been chatting with Bethany's boyfriend), and planned to enlist Bethany in a plan to kill Madison. Reveal and Death. Lisa revealing her identity to Madison. Madison began to suspect that "Courtney" had a connection to Blake, and after catching Madison's online search, Lisa revealed herself as Blake/Nick's sister, while lashing out at Madison for killing her brother. She voiced her devotion to her brother by stating that he was the only one who didn't see her as a crazy person, and accused Madison of taking him away from her before revealing her plan to have Madison committed and portrayed as a psychopath. The villainess drugged Madison and sent her to the same hospital that she worked at, and she later taunted Madison by telling her she could leave. Madison's attempt to leave resulted in Lisa shouting and claiming that Madison was escaping, leading to other staff holding down Madison. Afterwards, Lisa served a box of chocolates to Bethany, while also giving her a knife to use to kill Madison. The psychotic villainess left the hospital after sending Bethany inside Madison's room, as she planned to get away while Bethany took all of the blame for Madison being killed. However, despite Madison's attempts to get through to Bethany falling on deaf ears, a staff member caught Bethany inside Madison's room; all the while, Lisa attempted to kill Wesley after spotting him outside. The pair's fight resulted in Wesley stabbing Lisa with her own knife, with the villainess telling Wesley to "Go to Hell" before dying. Deveraux, Blake- Men of Danger 1- Dangerous Obsessions. What can bring a strong career Marine to his knees? Daniel Deveraux is a man of action. He doesn’t allow his life to be complicated by anything or anyone. He left the Marines after deciding that the don’t-ask-don’t-tell policy was more than he could abide. He returned home in search of a simple life, one devoid of the insanity he’d endured in Iraq. Love for him was a distant dream. Brandon Matthews is an exceptional man, both in body and in mind. His magnetic personality and exceptional good looks were an impenetrable wall behind which this damaged man safely hid. His journey found him working days as a carpenter, and nights as “eye candy” at a local gay bar. The two men find themselves on a tumultuous journey of emotional and sexual revelation that threatens to destroy them both. The intense sexual relationship binds them in a way neither one expects. The question remains—will the deep sexual bond bring the two men together in a deep and enduring love? Or will it destroy them? Deveraux takes you in to a very bumpy relationship of two men, with very bumpy pasts. One is a Marine that has served 2 tours, and the other a waiter with an abusive past. They get together and fall in love basically. While I liked the basis of the story, the beginning was very rough for me. I could barely understand what was going on, and after several reading’s finally understood what was going on. If you are a reader who is instantly drawn in to this book, I think it will be difficult for you to read. Other than that, book has a nice flow to it. It’s very well written, the characters are very believable, and easy to feel empathetic towards. While I don’t think I could entirely relate to the situation that they were in, I fully understood why they did what they did, and the dynamics of the relationship. I advise reading this when you have the time, especially the beginning, and getting in to the book. This is not a quick read, but one you have to get in to. Dynasty power rankings: Dominique arrives, and she’s already up to no good. While Fallon attempts to settle the score with Adam, Dynasty welcomes Dominique Deveraux. Is she after money, power, or both? Welcome, Dominique Deveraux! We’ve been waiting for you to stir the pot. steps into the iconic Dynasty role of Jeff and Monica’s mother and Blake’s half-sister, and she’s the hurricane they weren’t expecting to sweep through town. Following Jeff’s illness, Dominique swoops in to play the doting mother, but she also packed ulterior motives in her luggage. Meanwhile, Fallon and Liam team up to expose Adam to Blake, but Blake has much larger issues when Culhane plots a sneak attack. From powerful to powerless, we’re ranking Carrington manor’s best and brightest on their quest for control. Here’s how the power struggle stacked up in the latest episode of Dynasty Season 2. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!) 1. Culhane. Fresh off his partnership with the FBI, Culhane must catch Blake on tape confessing to his crimes. But it won’t be as easy as wearing a wire around the office and being extra inquisitive. Culhane spills the FBI news to Cristal, knowing that she’ll run to Blake and formulate a plan. During the Atlantix opening event, Blake has a private conversation with the senator to “get their stories straight,” but all the while she’s wearing a wire and in walks the FBI to arrest Blake. Who would have expected that of all people, Culhane would be the one to take down Blake Carrington? Bravo! 2. Dominique. Naturally, Jeff’s mysterious illness (which still hasn’t been given a formal diagnosis) is the perfect occasion for his estranged mother, Dominique, to gracefully reappear in his life. She’s somehow in his home when he returns from the hospital, and she makes the grandest of Dynasty entrances. Of course, her arrival doesn’t sit well with Monica, but Jeff pulls a minor heist to get the mother and daughter to break bread. Dominique later claims she never made it as a performer and never returned home because she was embarrassed about her decisions. Accepting her story, Jeff gives his mother a $1 million check as a test; the money kicks the door open for Dominique to leave. Jeff and Monica almost catch Dominique slipping out, but she proves to have thrown the check in the trash (mobile deposit is a thing, y’all) and says she didn’t want to disrupt their lives. However, they ask her to stay, which is exciting for us but won’t be for them. She calls someone who’s in on her scheme and asks how “the kids” are. Clearly, she’s just getting started. Liam gets on board after learning Adam slept with his mother, and together they concoct a plan to shatter Blake’s illusion of Adam. Obviously, that calls for Fallon to pose as Alexis, ask Adam to prescribe her pain medication and proceed to dose him with said medication. Blake’s not having any of Fallon’s sibling rivalry, until Adam confesses to knowing Fallon’s plan, and their feud takes a physical turn. Let’s just say she has the upper hand. 4. Adam. Last week, we presumed that Adam’s house of cards was beginning to crumble, but he appears to have stabilized the shaky foundation… for now. Slapping Fallon across the face — in public, no less — isn’t a good look and should honestly be grounds for arrest. Blake fires him but assures he can still “discreetly” work for the team. What did Adam actually lose? Well, he’s beginning to lose credibility. He’s scarily adept at gaslighting Blake and everyone around him, but his unsettling obsession with “mother” will be the hand that rocks his cradle. Thankfully, Fallon’s realized she needs to pull at the Alexis thread in order to unwind Adam. Well, well, well… It’s a bad week to be an entitled rich guy on a CW show. After (spoiler warning) Hiram landed behind bars in Riverdale, it’s Blake Carrington’s turn to smile for his mugshot. Of all the power players in this episode, Blake holds the least power by a long shot. (Hell, even Sam and Anders have more power, and they spent half the episode on a private jet to the Maldives.) But similarly to Hiram Lodge, Blake’s not one to lie down and accept his fate. He’s still got some tricks up his sleeve and Cristal on his side. Culhane better sleep with both eyes open. Bickford’s ‘Dangerous Obsession,’ satisfyingly suspenseful theater. MORRISTOWN – It’s just about impossible to write a review about intrigue and murderous intentions in the taut drama, “Dangerous Obsession,” without giving the plot away. Now on stage at The Bickford Theatre in Morristown, the play is filled with enough twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. N.J. Crisp’s well-crafted tale involves just three characters: a married couple in a posh home in England, Sally and Mark; and an acquaintance, John, who stops by. Neither Sally nor Mark really remembers him, but he ingratiates his way in, at first just to Sally, before Mark has come home. Crisp, an English playwright born in 1923, wrote for British television as well as theater. “Dangerous Obsession” was written in 1987, and was made into a move, “Darkness Falls,” in 1999. Director Eric Peterson has kept the tension at fever pitch, as we gradually learn the reason for John’s visit. Suffice it to say the actors are all superb in their roles. Christopher Yates as Mark comes in as the swaggering, successful husband, greeted with a Martini and very much in control. It’s fascinating to see how he crumbles in his efforts to preserve a smooth façade. His wife, Sally, played by Lisa Gunn, has obviously been lounging by their pool. Gunn shifts quickly from the gracious hostess to the fearful wife. Yet her efforts to be ‘kind’ give John the opening he needs in this lush environment. John, played by Paul Mantell, starts off as a mild-mannered visitor with a business proposition. He, too, undergoes a metamorphosis, revealing strange turns of personality before the night is over. Part of the appeal of this play is the way it circumvents, and then explores, the whole concept of marriage, what it means to be faithful and how the surface may differ from reality. But before I say more, you should see this drama for yourself. The dialogue is smart and believable; the set by Jim Bazewicz is handsome in its classy conservatory with French doors and upscale furnishings. Costumes by Cindy Capraro define each character distinctly and Bill Motyka’s lighting takes us from a sunny afternoon to gradually darkening skies. Sound design by Roman Klima also adds a shivering note to the proceedings. This production will move on to the Oldcastle Theatre Company in Bennington, Vermont. The Bickford's artistic director, Eric Hafen, said more joint productions are in the works. Hafen also announced the 2010-2011 season, which will include the musical "Mack and Mabel," "Moonlight and Magnolias," "The Little Dog Laughed" and "I Hate Hamlet." If you’re looking for a complex, masterly plot that has its share of surprises, this is it. And it’s all served with a British, often understated, flair. For tickets to “Dangerous Obsession,” call The Bickford at 973-971-3706 or visit the website at bickfordtheatre.org. The theater is in the Morris Museum, 6 Normandy Heights Road, Morristown.
