Yes? In the ruins of a garden in rural England. In a house which was once a home. A woman searches for seeds of hope. Following a sell-out run in 2017, Albion returns to the Almeida for four weeks only. Joining the previously announced Victoria Hamilton (awarded Best Actress at 2018 Critics’ Circle Awards for this role) and reprising their roles are Nigel Betts, Edyta Budnik, Wil Coban, Margot Leicester, Nicholas Rowe and Helen Schlesinger. Monday 7 January 2019 FULL CASTING ANNOUNCED FOR THE WEST END TRANSFER OF HOME, I’M DARLING As rehearsals begin, casting is announced for the West End transfer of the National Theatre and Theatr Clwyd’s critically acclaimed co-production of Home, I’m Darling, a new play by Laura Wade, directed by Theatre Clwyd Artistic Director Tamara Harvey, featuring Katherine Parkinson, which begins performances at the Duke of York’s Theatre on 26 January. Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd, Humans) reprises her acclaimed role as Judy, in Laura Wade’s fizzing comedy about one woman’s quest to be the perfect 1950’s housewife. She is joined by Sara Gregory as Alex and Richard Harrington as Johnny (for the West End run, with tour casting for the role of Johnny to be announced), reprising the roles they played at Theatr Clwyd and the National Theatre in 2018. Charlie Allen, Susan Brown (Sylvia), Ellie Burrow, Siubhan Harrison (Fran), Jane MacFarlane and Hywel Morgan (Marcus) complete the cast. Home, I’m Darling will play at the Duke of York’s Theatre until 13 April 2019, with a press night on Tuesday 5 February. The production will then tour to the Theatre Royal Bath, and The Lowry, Salford, before returning to Theatr Clwyd following a sold out run in July 2018. Home, I’m Darling is co-produced in the West End and on tour with Fiery Angel. How happily married are the happily married? Every couple needs a little fantasy to keep their marriage sparkling. But behind the gingham curtains, things start to unravel, and being a domestic goddess is not as easy as it seems.

The City University London Law Society Caters Well for Its Members Who Have a Diverse Range of Interests
CITY UNIVERSITY LONDON LAW SOCIETY The City University London Law Society caters well for its members who have a diverse range of interests; be it the socials (including the Christmas boat party which has sold out in the last two years), epic cinema screenings, lively debates, mooting competitions, pro-bono/voluntary activities and excellent careers events. This year the law society is hoping to stage more sporting activities between its members and law society members in other Universities in response to widening interest. As law students ourselves we appreciate that reading law at university is not a walk in the park and so the City University London Law Society endeavours to support students in every aspect of their life as a law student. Most people seek advice from those closest to them and those who have been through similar experiences in their own lives as students. We therefore take very seriously the importance of hosting events where students can get to know one another. There will be a number of day and evening activities at the beginning of term, but also throughout the academic year, enabling new students to make and build upon lasting relationships. Without a doubt students get far more out of the society than they put in, and so we encourage them all to become involved. The law society works very hard to provide students with the type of events that they are interested in, we just ask that they make sure they come to events once they have signed up and to keep us constantly informed about the type of events that they wish to participate in.

No part of this survey may be reproduced without permission The comparative employment of men and women as actors, directors and writers in the UK theatre industry, and how new writing features in venues’ programming Period 1: 16 – 29 January 2006 (inclusive) Section A: Actors, Writers, Directors and New Writing. For the two weeks covered in Period 1, there were 140 productions staged at 112 venues. Writers Of the 140 productions there were: 98 written by men 70% 13 written by women 9% 22 mixed collaboration 16% (7 unknown) 5% New Writing 48 of the 140 plays were new writing (34%). Of the 48 new plays: 30 written by men 62% 8 written by women 17% 10 mixed collaboration 21% The greatest volume of new writing was shown at Fringe venues, with 31% of its programme for the specified time period featuring new writing. New Adaptations/ New Translations 9 of the 140 plays were new adaptations/ new translations (6%). Titilola Dawudu CV
Titilola Dawudu is a Nigerian-born British writer and editor and trustee for Theatre Centre. She is on the advisory board for Beyond Face and recently became a board member for CreativeMornings. She worked for GMTV before moving onto youth organisation, Headliners where she was an outreach journalist. She worked with Croydon-based youth charity, Reaching Higher, where she started an all-girls theatre platform called STAGES which sees girls create work by drawing influence from their own life experiences. After completing an MA in Dramatic Writing at Central Saint Martins and receiving a distinction, she became an associate with Tamasha theatre and wrote an audio installation as part of playwright, Ishy Din’s Taxi Tales. she co-created and edited Hear Me Now Audition Monologues for Actors of Colour with Tamasha, published by Oberon Books. She has worked with Soho Theatre and nitroBEAT. She was on the Emerging Producer’s Development Programme at Edinburgh Fringe in 2016 and was one of China Plates’ Enhanced Optimist in 2017. She is an associate Writer for Beyond Face Theatre company having written Where’s Abi? performed at Theatre Royal in Plymouth in 2017 and a new piece called I’m a Stargazer! as part of their ‘Alright Petal?’ body of work came out in September. She wrote Nafisah, a play about child marriage for Theatre Royal Arojah in Abuja, Nigeria. Her monologues have been performed at Soho theatre (Womb) 2016 and for SlaMinutes at the Arcola Theatre (One Rung) in 2018. She won The Student Guide to Playwriting Award for her play Down Hair in 2016 and her monologue Old Me/New Me was performed at the Bush theatre and is featured in the book, The Student Guide to Playwriting.

Experience is desirable (transferrable skills can work too). Most important is passion and commitment to Soho Theatre’s work and our sales and audience development. SOHO THEATRE is London’s most vibrant producer for new theatre, comedy and cabaret.
