You have made a brilliant choice to not only attend Mizzou, but become or continue to be a member of Marching Mizzou, a time-honored tradition very special to Mizzou, our game atmosphere in Memorial Stadium, and anywhere we have the opportunity to perform. Welcome to our band family and to an organization that has the capability to change your life and define your collegiate experience at Mizzou. At the core of Marching Mizzou is a long-standing tradition of excellence and we work hard to not only uphold that tradition, but build upon it each year. Our Marching Mizzou Leadership Team stands ready to guide you through our season in the capacity we are able to move forward under the direction of the University of Missouri in their “Show Me Renewal” plan aligned with guidelines from the Boone County Department of Health and input from medical experts at MU Health Care, the official sponsor of Marching Mizzou. We stand committed to the health of our students, faculty, and staff as we move forward in a safe and thoughtful manner to reunite Marching Mizzou as one ensemble, recalibrate ourselves after such a trying year during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to hopefully retake Faurot Field in Memorial Stadium to bring all Tiger fans in attendance our pageantry of Game Day they have grown to love and expect from Marching Mizzou.

There he became the first of a long line of American composers to study with the famous pedagogue, Nadia Boulanger. Copland's music is most famous for the use of jazzy rhythms and folk song melodies. • Festival Letter
Dec. 1, 2020 Dear Colleagues, My name is Joshua Kearney, and I am honored to serve the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association as Concert Band Chair. I am excited to share materials regarding the 2021 NSBA Virtual State Concert Band Festival with each of you. The event will take place on March 31, 2021. This annual festival provides a non-competitive environment that serves all levels of ensembles in the state of Nebraska—middle school, high school, and college/university groups. NSBA recognizes the unique situations currently facing bands across the state due to COVID-19; the 2021 State Concert Band Festival will be an experience that encourages and celebrates the music-making happening in each of our state’s programs. Typically, the festival includes a performance component followed by a clinic; however ensembles are not limited to that format for the 2021 SCBF. Performance components for the 2021 SCBF may include, but are not limited to (inclusion in this list does not necessarily constitute endorsement by NSBA): • An audio/video performance recording of your school ensemble from this school year or previous years (e.g. large ensemble, large chamber ensemble, flex music, body percussion, bucket drumming, etc.). • A live ensemble performance over Zoom/other video software for the clinicians. • A virtual ensemble video (e.g.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0NJOqBvrLI) • Midi/Mp3 realizations of pieces composed by your band classes. • A John Cage 4’33” video/audio track or other musical collage (e.g.: https://alumni.asu.edu/20200414-asu-wind-bands-go-
