As Mizzou continues with its second season in the Southeastern Conference, we have a great deal to celebrate. The 2012 season was witness to a number of new heights for the athletic department. Due in strong part to our dedicated fans, Mizzou saw records in attendance and donations to the Tiger Scholarship Fund. In addition, Mizzou recently broke ground on a stadium renovation that will make our home field a premier venue on a national level for the Tigers. It is a very exciting time in Mizzou Athletics and we thank you for all of your support. As we inch closer to the 2013 season, the department continues to work towards ensuring your game day experience is second to none. This guide has been designed as a helpful tool to assist you in navigating through your game day experience at Mizzou. Please review this material and be sure to let us know if there is any way that we can better serve you. Included in this guide are a number of new changes in operational procedures that will improve your game day experience (page 5). Looking back on our inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference, we must applaud our fans for showing our new conference members the pride and tradition of Mizzou Athletics. Visiting teams and fans were continually impressed with the hospitality and passion our fans showed on game day. As Tiger fans are the biggest ambassadors for the University of Missouri, let us continue this display of sportsmanship in the upcoming season. We want to compete with class, we want to support our team with class and we want to treat our guests with class. We ask that you continue to be enthusiastic in your support, and do so in a way that reflects well on all of us. Please remember it is never appropriate for our fans to come onto the field of competition. This is not part of our culture at Mizzou and it is a hazardous and potentially dangerous activity. Coming onto any of our competitive playing surfaces at Mizzou is not permitted. As the flagship institution for the State of Missouri, we are proud of our heritage, and are so pleased that we have such a tremendous fan base and friends. We have an outstanding staff, including our event workers, security, parking attendants, ushers, ticket takers, concessionaires, grounds and maintenance, who are happy to assist you in any way. We pride ourselves as a university community, a community in general, and being, “One Mizzou”… all of us working together to provide memorable experiences. THANK YOU for your support and Go Tigers! This year marks the 108th anniversary of Chester Brewer calling Tigers everywhere to “come home” to the University of Missouri, thus creating the very first Homecoming. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members have been continuing the tradition ever since with a celebration of Mizzou and her impressive history of excellence. We celebrate with campus traditions old and new to showcase all facets of the university. Students and stories from every corner of campus come together to put on festivities that add to Mizzou’s rich history while collectively forging paths that will last for another 108 years. The Mizzou Alumni Association is proud to celebrate Homecoming with a wide variety of top-notch events that serve the community: we host the largest student-run blood drive in the nation; the Homecoming Food Drive benefits the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri; Campus Decorations and the Homecoming Parade are unique experiences that provide creative entertainment for the entire Mizzou family. These and the numerous other events that spread the infectious Tiger spirit every Homecoming season would not be possible without the time and selfless devotion of our students.
