How to Get the Most Out of FreedomFest “FreedomFest is THE great place to talk, argue, listen, celebrate the triumphs of liberty, assess the dangers to liberty, and provide that eternal vigilance that is the price of liberty.” — Milton Friedman Welcome to FreedomFest 2009! People are calling FreedomFest many things: A Live Wikipedia for Libertarians, a Renaissance weekend for free thinkers, and the Trade Show for Liberty. It is, in short, the greatest show on earth for free minds and worldly philosophers. Nine Conferences in One! Actually, this year’s FreedomFest is nine conferences in one: 1. We offer a “World Economic Summit” to address the never ending financial crisis. “Clear and Present Danger” is our theme, with a dozen experts from around the world assessing the dangers, threats and opportunities. In our geopolitical forum, we try to answer: What’s the outlook for the Middle East and other hotspots? What’s going on inside the Washington beltway? Plus, a special session on “State Think Tanks: How Effective Are they?” and “The Need for a Third Party Revolution” and “The Future of Education: It Ain’t What it Used to Be.” Then, on Friday night, don’t miss Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty. Expect a full crowd in Bally’s Event Center. 2. The “All Star Prediction Panel” consists of top economists and financial analysts, who warned attendees last year about the impending crisis. What are they predicting now, and how should you invest? This is a three-day investment seminar with sessions on “best places to invest your money,” the outlook for real estate and energy, and the Libertarian Entrepreneurs Panel, a perennial favorite. 3. Trial of the Century on Friday evening explores what caused the 2008 crisis: free-market capitalism or bad government policies? Don’t miss “Free Market Capitalism on Trial” in a mock trial with judges, prosecuting and defending attorneys, star witnesses, and the audience as the jury! It will be talked about for years to come. Plus, these other big debates: “Wal-Mart, Good or Bad?” … “Immigration: Will Mexico Explode?” ... “Fed Up: Should the Fed be Abolished?” ... “Randian vs. Conscious Capitalism” … ”Darwin After 200 Years: Evolution or Revolution?” and “Should Hard Drugs be Legalized?” 4. New Media Series: Several sessions on powerful techniques to improve your business and your cause with e-mail, blogging and other new media, with the world’s most successful experts. 5. Liberty Editors Conference: Held every year at FreedomFest, Liberty magazine editors offer 10 sessions, including a big debate on “Anarchy vs. Limited Government” and “Liberty and Religion.” 6. Offshore Tax Boot Camp: Beat the tax man with offshore planning, and learn about legitimate tax shelters and the benefits and risks of moving abroad. Find out about the advantages of moving to a low-tax state or a tax haven, and getting a second passport. Learn from these top experts in the field. 7. Sacred Text Project: Hear a Rabbi, a Christian, a Muslim, a Sikh and a Mormon explain their sacred scriptures and debate the role of religion in a no-holds-bar roundtable. 8. Science Fiction Mini-Festival focuses on the writings of J. R. R. Tolkien, Robert Heinlein, Ray Bradbury and Ayn Rand. 9. Healthy Living Series: Learn to live to be 100 and enjoy it with our health and exercise experts. Be sure to stop by the exhibit hall in the mornings for “Awake, Alert and Aware: Morning Practice in Kundalini Yoga and Meditation With Gurucharan Singh Khalsa.” POTPOURRI: Plus, see and hear historians, scientists and authors talk about a wide variety of issues such as “Fantasyland, Walt Disney and the American Dream,” followed by “Playboy, Hugh Hefner and the American Dream,” “Sixty Million Frenchmen Can’t be Wrong” and “The Story of French,” the strange connection between Confucius and America’s Founding Fathers (especially Franklin and Jefferson), “Money and the meaning of life,” the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin and Abe Lincoln, “The Joys and Mysteries of Mathematics,” plus a mystery guest speaker you won’t want to miss! EXHIBIT HALL EXTRAORDINAIRE: More than 90 exhibitors will grace our gigantic exhibit hall this year, including think tanks, freedom organizations, financial services and bookstores. Be sure to spend some time with our exhibitors. 6 GALA SATURDAY NIGHT BANQUET: Attendees always love our grand finale, the Saturday night banquet. Last year’s George Bush impersonator brought the house down. One attendee told us, “I haven’t laughed this hard in 10 years.” This year, enjoy another induction ceremony of the Free Market Hall of Fame, a keynote address by Larry Kudlow, and the world’s No. 1 Beatles impersonation band called “Yesterday.” Everything is included in your registration fee — except the special breakfasts, luncheons and the gala Saturday night banquet. Please check the schedule and sign up at the registration table for your favorite luncheon speaker. Each Room is Dedicated to a Free-Market Patriot At FreedomFest, we like to remember our heroes who have passed on. Each room is dedicated to a free-market hero. This year, we have dedicated rooms to John Templeton, Jack Kemp, Marshall Fritz, Larry Abraham, Beth Hoffman, Burt Blumert, Fred Schwartz, Millard Fuller, Paul Weyrich and Vince Miller. We have a picture and a short biography of each in this issue. What FreedomFest is ... and what it isn't FreedomFest is not a political organization, think tank, union or movement. We have neither political ambitions, nor a call to arms. We do not advocate legislation. We do not officially endorse candidates. We do not recommend specific investments. We are not fundraisers for specific causes. BUT we are committed to creating an annual conference where YOU are free to remold the world, endorse candidates and legislation, sell books, hand out literature, make financial decisions, or create a new political movement. FreedomFest provides a forum for all freedom organizations and individuals as much as possible. We advocate only one cause — maximizing YOUR freedom to talk, listen, debate and trade products and ideas within the bounds of decency and respect for others. Every FreedomFest is different for each individual who attends. That’s because we offer eight sessions simultaneously. There’s never a dull moment at FreedomFest. Here’s how to maximize your enjoyment over the next three days. 1. Go over your program carefully and circle which sessions you wish to attend. Often you will be forced to choose between two or three sessions you want to see at the same time. But don’t worry. We are recording every session in CD format, which you can buy during the conference. Better yet, buy the entire program on CD! 2. Our recommendation: Divide and prosper! If you are here with a spouse, partner or friend, attend different sessions instead of staying together. You will have wonderful ideas to discuss in the days to come. 3. Please respect another person’s alternative point of view. Learn to listen, not just argue. 4. Be open-minded about attending a variety of sessions. If you are here primarily as an investor, attend non-financial workshops as well. Embrace the opportunity to learn something new. 5. Attendees: Choose sessions based on topics, not just the big-name speakers. We have invited many bright new thinkers and experts to FreedomFest, some of whom are not well-known. If the topic interests you, go! 6.

  • BARACK OBAMA by Wayne Allyn Root This Is the Most Important Column I've Ever Written
MEET THE NEW PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES BARACK OBAMA By Wayne Allyn Root This is the most important column I've ever written This is my chance to play the modern-day version of Paul Revere. "The commies are coming, The commies are coming." Yes, I am re- porting a communist takeover. The leader of this attack is not whom it appears to be. Republicans, conservatives, patriots, and capitalists are sick right about now. We're in shock. We can't believe Trump isn't president, We can't believe Americans voted against the greatest economy, perhaps in history, and the greatest jobs picture ever, and the greatest improvement in middle-class incomes ever. And after the covid lockdown and economic collapse, Trump reduced the greatest economic comeback ever. Remember 33% GDP in Q3 2020? That was the biggest number in history. Who would vote against all that? You'd have to be self- hating and suicidal. We also can't believe America voted for a feeble old man with dementia who mumbles "I don't know what I'm signing, but I'm gonna sign these Executive Orders." Even though he got his two vaccine shots before he became president. We all believe the election was rigged and stolen. We all know the feeble old man now called "President" would be more at home in an assisted living home than the White House. That man can't be our new president. I have news for my fellow conservative, Republicans, capitalists, and patriots. Biden's not the president. He's a puppet.

Abstract This dissertation takes the form of an eleven-part podcast series titled, “A Self-Help Guide to Future Success.” The radio series relates to the topic of personal success. Success comes in all sorts of forms – financial, social, ethical, personal: it cannot be defined. In today’s environment, people find themselves confused more than ever before. As a senior in college who is about to graduate in less than four weeks, I find it mind-boggling how little students have thought about their futures.

Starting from The Fellowship Foundation founded in the USA in the 1930s and looking at similar and interconnected developments in various countries from South America, Africa, and Europe, the article explores theological foundations of today's world- wide ascend of fascism. Using the example of Anders Behring Breivik’sfamous terrorist attack in Norway, it explores theoretical background for Alt-Right attacks on political correctness and ‘cultural Marxism’. Looking into the 'end of the world' theology and its morality, the article explains deep relationships between Christian fundamentalist prosperity theology and Israel. The article connects Christianity’s forward-looking, linear view of history with ‘end of the world’ theology and capitalism. • Crypto Anarchy, Cyberstates, and Pirate Utopias Edited by Peter Ludlow
Ludlow cover 7/7/01 2:08 PM Page 1 Crypto Anarchy, Cyberstates, and Pirate Utopias Crypto Anarchy, Crypto Anarchy, Cyberstates, and Pirate Utopias edited by Peter Ludlow In Crypto Anarchy, Cyberstates, and Pirate Utopias, Peter Ludlow extends the approach he used so successfully in High Noon on the Electronic Frontier, offering a collection of writings that reflect the eclectic nature of the online world, as well as its tremendous energy and creativity. This time the subject is the emergence of governance structures within online communities and the visions of political sovereignty shaping some of those communities. Ludlow views virtual communities as laboratories for conducting experiments in the Peter Ludlow construction of new societies and governance structures. While many online experiments will fail, Ludlow argues that given the synergy of the online world, new and superior governance structures may emerge. Indeed, utopian visions are not out of place, provided that we understand the new utopias to edited by be fleeting localized “islands in the Net” and not permanent institutions. The book is organized in five sections. The first section considers the sovereignty of the Internet. The second section asks how widespread access to resources such as Pretty Good Privacy and anonymous remailers allows the possibility of “Crypto Anarchy”—essentially carving out space for activities that lie outside the purview of nation-states and other traditional powers. The Crypto Anarchy, Cyberstates, third section shows how the growth of e-commerce is raising questions of legal jurisdiction and taxation for which the geographic boundaries of nation- states are obsolete. The fourth section looks at specific experimental governance and Pirate Utopias structures evolved by online communities.

http://www.uwec.edu/bonstemj/Inequality/Fall.08/GlobalEconomy.htm Global Economy: Hillary Clinton (Democrat) Mike Huckabee (Republican) Mitt Romney (Republican) John Edwards (Democrat) John McCain (Republican) Green Party Candidate Barack Obama (Democrat) Ron Paul (Republican) Libertarian Party Candidate Hillary Clinton Clinton supported NAFTA, but now is against CAFTA. How she has voted in regards to free trade between countries has varied depending on the country, but overall seems to promote trade between nations. She has defended outsourcing of U.S. jobs to India, but then had the opposite stance when it came to China. With outsourcing, it seems like how she votes is situational instead of decidedly one way or another. Her focus is on educating Americans better so that they can effectively compete for the jobs, and also creating new jobs so it is less of a problem. Would end the tax breaks that exist in the tax code for outsourcing jobs and have trade agreements with enforceable labor and environmental standards. He would like human rights to be a priority in the policy. When engaging in trade he would like to see the U.S. trade smarter. He also thinks that a greater emphasis on education will aid in the success of free trade.

Peak Politics: Resource Scarcity and Libertarian Political Culture in the United States A Dissertation SUBMITTED TO THE FACULTY OF UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA BY Matthew Schneider-Mayerson IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY Elaine Tyler May, Adviser June 2013 © Matthew Schneider-Mayerson, 2013 Acknowledgements First and foremost, many thanks to the wonderful members of my committee, Elaine Tyler May, Lary May, Daniel J. Philippon, Kevin P. Murphy and David N. Pellow. Elaine and Lary were dedicated mentors throughout graduate school, even when they—and often I—had little idea exactly what I was studying, or why. Lary’s emphasis on the “so what” question reminded me that my research should always be relevant, while Elaine’s consistent support, insight, and warmth were invaluable. Their monthly dissertation group provided the kind of intellectual community that one seeks but rarely finds as one enters graduate school, and having regular take-out Chinese food made me, a Jew from New York City, feel right at home in the Midwest. Dan Philippon was a mentor in my environmental pursuits and provided generous feedback and advice on this and other projects that was incredibly thoughtful and detailed. David Pellow agreed to join at a late stage and always provoked me to consider new angles. Kevin Murphy guided my research into conservatism and masculinity and was a model of sustaining kindness and warmth. Thanks to the University of Minnesota for its financial support, especially in the form of a Graduate Student Fellowship my first year and a Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship this last year.
