A few years ago The High Street Auction Company, currently South Africa’s leading real estate auction house, decided to turn their focus to select movable assets. In a short space of time we were lucky enough to launch our Johannesburg and now Cape Town operations with a joint venture agreement with Stef Olivier of Bidway Auction House. We are extremely excited to announce that Stef and his entire team will be joining High Street permanently from 2020. Our inaugural estate vintage and classic car auction has been in preparation for over 6 months and we are extremely proud to share the block with Stef and his team. The Bester family have entrusted us to dispose of over 6 decades of vintage vehicles, barn finds and automobilia under the instruction of their executor. In this short space of time we have been inundated by collectors to auction off further vintage vehicles. We will announce the next exciting classic car auction in early 2020. These will also be held on an annual basis due to the overwhelming response from our clients and will become the most anticipated auction events of the year. The auction on Saturday the 9th November will kick off at 10h30 with rare barn finds, engines and hundreds of thousands of spares, parts and automobilia. This will all be sold without reserve. All vehicles will be sold to the highest bidder under strict consent of the executor. Most of this collection of 400 lots represent the biggest collection of parts and spares that has ever come onto the South African auction market. The auction event will be a day for the whole family as we will have food trucks, refreshments and a vintage car display on behalf of the Bester family of a few of the cars they are keeping. There will also be numerous car clubs and collectors present on the day for the festivities and fun. All vehicles will be charged a R50 entry fee with the proceeds going to a local charity chosen by the family. Children under 18 will be free. Please join us for this highly anticipated auction event when we auction off some amazing history from the 1920’s to the 1970’s. The sheer size and scale of the collection is something that has to be seen to be believed. It will be a very exciting day for the whole family. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Bester family for the trust they have placed in us as well as their friendship and commitment to the process over the last 6 months. VEHICLE REGISTRATION & PAPERWORK: Ÿ Vehicles will only be released if the money reflects into our bank account. Ÿ There can be a delay of 7 working days for registration papers of vehicles sold to be supplied. Buyers will be notified of delays. Certain vehicles have no papers. Ÿ Buyers need to provide a copy of their ID Document / Proof of address and a paid copy of the invoice before vehicles will be released. CONDITIONS FOR MOTOR VEHICLES: Ÿ By signing the registration form and paying the related deposit, the Buyer confirms and acknowledges that he viewed and inspected the motor vehicles concerned, and has confirmed all of the particulars relating to the motor vehicle. Auction House Page 4 | www.highstreetauctions.com SPECIAL TERMS & CONDITIONS Ÿ The Auctioneers will provide ; The name and address of the Auctioneer ; a notice that there is no liability or duty on the auction house or Seller to repair ; the motor vehicle’s year of manufacture (where known), year of first registration(Where known), manufacturer, model designation (Where Known), registration number, engine number, VIN number (Where Known), and the odometer reading. Odometer readings are not guaranteed. Ÿ Where motor vehicles or other items having legal documents that document a year model, the description used by the Auctioneer will be the year model as per the legal documentation as supplied by the NATIS system. Ÿ The Auctioneer has no knowledge of year of manufacture or manufacturers year designation. In the case of motor vehicles or other items requiring the completion and delivery of documents by the Seller or any third party, Bidway or The High Street Auction Company shall not be obligated to deliver such lots to the Buyer until the relevant documentation, duly completed and signed, has been delivered to Bidway or The High Street Auction Company and cannot guarantee this period. Ÿ The Buyer agrees to comply with any requirements to register and roadworthy the vehicle and to undertake any repairs necessary to effect such requirements. 9. In its original form, dating back into the mists of time, it was often known as the illicit whisky moonshine, which was a distillate of grain such as wheat, though production was also possible from sugar crops. Its use as a vehicle fuel is believed to date back at least to Henry Ford’s first quadricycle, which reportedly ran on ethanol corn alcohol, as could the Model T and several other early US cars – until ‘gasoline’ became more widely available. Afterwards, ethanol was sometimes added to early petrol as an octane booster to combat the dreaded “pinking” (or “detonation”) falling out of favour only with the discovery that tetra- ethyl lead did the same job with less hassle all round… Ethanol began a comeback in the 1970s, when pressure was mounting in the US to remove lead from petrol, and some south American countries realised that as a vehicle fuel produced from local crops it could dramatically cut prices – and reduce reliance on imports as the oil crisis hit.

For the 50th anniversary of PEUGEOT 304, L'Amicale 204-304 gathered its members in Sochaux on May 30th. More than fifty 304 are expected in front of the Museum entrance. If you are also the proud owner of a 304, we invite you to join them between 3 pm and 6 pm on Thursday 30 May. At the heart of the museum, 4 versions of the 304 are on display: a magnificent blue sedan, a yellow coupe, a red cabriolet that participated in the show "Julie's notebooks" and a rally version in the competition area. Launched in September 1969, the PEUGEOT 304 is extrapolated from the 204 and aims to occupy the mid-range niche. From its older, the 304 retains the wheelbase and the central part of the body but the stern has been lengthened.
