Styx Still Kicks!

Last night, July 7, music favorites Styx and 38 Special teamed up for a rockin' night at the Calvert Marine Museum. In the latest Calvert Marine Museum production, the legendary rock bands, Styx and 38 Special came to Solomons Island for an exclusive concert as part of the Waterside Concert series.

Tyler Bryant, an 18-year-old, music phenomenon, an extraordinary virtuoso electric guitarist, singer and got the party started as the show opener. The 18-year-old prodigy has been playing guitar since he was seven and has played with the likes of Slash, Santana, Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, ZZ Top and other guitar and music legends. The charismatic rocker performed many of his original tunes including Lipstick Wonder Woman, Nobody, Save Me, All Night Long. All of those beats were a great prelude to the shows special guest 38 Special.

Anxious crowds held on loosely as 38 Special took the stage performing fan favorites such as "" (1981) "" (1982); "If I'd Been The One" (1983) ; "Second Chance" (1989). The rockin' artists that made this production a success include: Barnes, Van Zant, guitarist Danny Chauncey, bassist Larry Junstrom, keyboardist , and drummer Gary Moffatt.

Listening to one hit after another, concert goers had the pleasure of Headliner Spotlight Styx take the stage. Styx fans were up out of their seats dancing to power ballads "Come Sail Away", "Renegade" and "Blue Collar Man". Fans in the front rows were ecstatic when lead singers threw their custom guitar picks into the crowd. The group was very interactive, while asking fans to help them sing along to their well known platinum hits.

Rock favorites Styx and 38 Special put on a great show for Southern Maryland! Calvert Marine Museum was rocking all night long with great food, great tunes and great company! After all these years, Styx still kicks!
