6. Two Days Hands-on Training Workshop on “Laboratory Analytical Techniques” December 04-05, 2018

The Department of Soil & Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture organized two days Hands- on workshop on, “Laboratory Analytical Techniques” at the University on December 04-05, 2018. During the training, the faculty members and students were given practical hands-on training on atomic absorption spectrophotometer, Kjeldhal nitrogen, spectrophotometer and demonstration of soil sampling.

The Department of Sociology, Faculty of Management, Humanities and Social Sciences organized two days training workshop on, “Project Planning and Management” in collaboration with Social Welfare Department of Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir at the University on April 26-27, 2019.

Veterinary Medical Camps Veterinary Medical Camps are regularly arranged by Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences along with Faculty Chinar Vet Care Society. The subjects of veterinary clinical sciences deal with practical training of various diseases of livestock and poultry. But to hilly topography of Rawalakot, it is not possible to bring the animals at Veterinary Clinic FVAS. Keeping in view the training of DVM students as well as provision of services to farmers at door step, this camp is regularly arranged after one week in various villages of Rawalakot. The services in this camp are provided in the form of free medication as well as pregnancy diagnosis. Agriculture Farms The Agriculture farms of the University of the Poonch provides technical services for the growers of the area and organize trainings for vegetable, fruit and flower production. The farm also provides certified fruit plants of Apple, Pear, Peach and Apricot to the growers and grows vegetables and cut flowers for commercial purpose.

Strengthening of the University of Poonch, Rawalakot, AJ&K (UPR) The Mega Project entitled, “Strengthening of UPR” worth Rs. 844.944 million was approved by Higher Education Commission (HEC) in 2014. Following are the major components of mega project and physical progress of each component;
