The document is not a comprehensive timeline of every action, policy decision, or ship movement. What is provided is a glimpse into how the 20th century’s first global conflict influenced the Navy and its evolution throughout the conflict and the immediate aftermath. ABSTRACT This thesis examines the British Commonwealth and Allied Naval forces operation on the west coast during the final two and a half years of the Korean War, particularly focused on their co- operation with the anti-Communist guerrillas. The purpose of this study is to present a more realistic picture of the United Nations (UN) naval forces operation in the west, which has been largely neglected, by analysing their activities in relation to the large number of irregular forces. This thesis shows that, even though it was often difficult and frustrating, working with the irregular groups was both strategically and operationally essential to the conduct of the war, and this naval-guerrilla relationship was of major importance during the latter part of the naval campaign. -

1 Submission to the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants: pushback practices and their impact on the human rights of migrants by Mare Liberum Mare Liberum is a Berlin based non-profit-association, that monitors the human rights situation in the Aegean Sea with its own ships - mainly of the coast of the Greek island of Lesvos. As independent observers, we conduct research to document and publish our findings about the current situation at the European border. Since March 2020, Mare Liberum has witnessed a dramatic increase in human rights violations in the Aegean, both at sea and on land. Collective expulsions, commonly known as ‘pushbacks’, which are defined under ECHR Protocol N. 4 (Article 4), have been the most common violation we have witnessed in 2020. From March 2020 until the end of December 2020 alone, we counted 321 pushbacks in the Aegean Sea, in which 9,798 people were pushed back. Pushbacks by the Hellenic Coast Guard and other European actors, as well as pullbacks by the Turkish Coast Guard are not a new phenomenon in the Aegean Sea. However, the numbers were significantly lower and it was standard procedure for the Hellenic Coast Guard to rescue boats in distress and bring them to land where they would register as asylum seekers. End of February 2020 the political situation changed dramatically when Erdogan decided to open the borders and to terminate the EU-Turkey deal of 2016 as a political move to create pressure on the EU. Instead of preventing refugees from crossing the Aegean – as it was agreed upon in the widely criticised EU-Turkey deal - reports suggested that people on the move were forced towards the land and sea borders by Turkish authorities to provoke a large number of crossings. -

Abstract: This report discusses the June 14, 2003, accident in which the U.S. small passenger vessel Taki- Tooo capsized while attempting to cross the bar at Tillamook Bay, Oregon. A master, deckhand, and 17 passengers were on board the charter fishing vessel when it was struck broadside by a wave and overturned. The master and 10 passengers died in the capsizing; the deckhand and 7 passengers sustained minor injuries. The Taki-Tooo, with a replacement value of $180,000, was a total loss. From its investigation of the accident, the Safety Board identified the following major safety issues: decision to cross the bar, Tillamook Bay operations, and survivability. On the basis of its findings, the Safety Board made recommendations to the U.S. -

The project narrative has the limit of work at the 25-foot buffer and the proposed garage no closer than 50 feet to the wetland boundary. These setbacks have usually required the filing of a NOI. However, the submitted plans show the limit of work in excess of 50-feet to the wetland boundary and the proposed garage partially outside the 100-foot buffer. Strobridge World War I The 9th Marines had its origin in the great expansion of the Marine Corps during World War I. Created as one of the two Infantry regiments of the Advanced Base Force, it was assigned to duty in the Carribean area as a mobile force in readiness.
