Young, personable Jim Berry has taken over the reins of the Panthers and already he has made his presence felt even before the first game of the season. A Waterloo native, Berry graduated from West Waterloo and moved on to Creighton University in Omaho, Nebraska where he earned two All-American honors in basketball during the late 50s. Fol lowing his graduation from Creighton in 1960, he remained to serve as the assistant coach and head baseball coach until 1962. A two-year stint in the armed forces followed but he continued coaching, directing service basket ball and baseball teams. His basketball squads chalked up a line 41-11 mark in two years. The proposed Uni-Dome for the University of Northern Iowa will be Iowa's !st and only truly multi purpose, domed coliseum. Construction of the $4.5 million dollar struc ture is tentatively scheduled for spring 197 4. It will seat 12-19,000 for football. A completely removable artificial gridiron turf can be rolled up in 45 minutes revealing a base surface for basketball games, track, etc.
