Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, Presented by the Television Academy, Was Held Tonight at the Television Academy’S New Saban Media Center FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Post-awards presentation (approximately 8:00PM, PDT) July 23, 2016 WINNERS OF THE 68th LOS ANGELES AREA EMMY® AWARDS ANNOUNCED NoHo Arts District, CA, July 23, 2016 – The 68th Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, presented by the Television Academy, was held tonight at the Television Academy’s new Saban Media Center. Los Angeles icon and Emmy® Award-winning television host Stephanie Edwards was the recipient of this year’s Los Angeles Area Governors Award, presented to her by KTLA’s Sam Rubin. A complete list of the Los Angeles Area Emmy Award winners, as compiled by the Academy's accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP, is attached. Producing this year’s awards ceremony for the Television Academy was Bob Bain. Awards were presented by local area personalities, reporters and newscasters, as well as Niecy Nash, Jason George and Florence Henderson. Greg Taylor is Vice Chair, Los Angeles Area on the Academy’s Executive Committee. Gerri Shaftel Constant and Beatriz Gomez are the Los Angeles Area Governors. The Academy's Senior Vice President for Awards is John Leverence and Vice President is Julie Shore. Liz Korda Smith is the Los Angeles Area Awards Director. You have been incredible first responders. You have shown the heart of this city and you have shown the guts of Los Angeles. You have shown LA love, and for that I am so grateful. There is a lot of news out there that people are starting to fray, and I know that it has been tough on a lot of people. But I want to be clear that while those stories can be found, that is not what we are seeing. 99.9 percent of Angelenos are doing the right thing. Even across this nation, I believe people want to save lives. That this is not about politics or partisanship, this is about people and this is about perseverance. Keep showing you courage.
