LAST GAME (Jan. 15) - Anaheim 1 at Colorado 3 Jonathan Bernier made 33 saves to backstop the Avalanche to their seventh consecutive victory, 3-1, over the Anaheim Ducks at Pepsi Center. Nathan MacKinnon notched the game winner, and Matt Nieto and Colin Wilson also scored.

• The Avs have won seven games in a row for the first time since Dec. 31, 2005—Jan. 17, 2006, when they won eight straight. • The Avs have won six straight at home for the first time since posting eight consecutive home wins from Nov. 30—Dec. 23, 2011. • Colorado is 12-3-1 in its last 16 games. • Bernier established a career high with his sixth consecutive victory, besting five-game streaks achieved in 2012-13 and 2016-17. Bernier is 6-0-0 with a 1.27 GAA, .962 SV% and one shutout during this stretch (330:24 Min, 183 SA, 7 GA). The last Avs goalie to win six games in a row was Semyon Varlamov from Dec. 7-19, 2015. • MacKinnon extended his point streak to seven games (5g/9a), tied for the second-longest active streak in the NHL and the second- longest streak of his career (13 straight in 2013-14). He extended his goal streak to three games, tying his career-long. MacKinnon scored his team-leading sixth game-winning goal of the year, matching his career high from 2015-16. • Kerfoot extended his point streak to three games (1g/4a). • Colorado went 2-for-2 on the penalty kill and has killed 48 of its last 50 (96%).

WINNERS OF SEVEN STRAIGHT, AVS CONTINUE THREE-GAME HOMESTAND AGAINST SHARKS The Avalanche continues their three-game homestand tonight against the San Jose Sharks at Pepsi Center. The Avs, who opened the homestand with a 3-1 victory over Anaheim on Monday, will conclude this three-game stay on Saturday afternoon against the New York Rangers. Saturday's game will end a stretch that saw the Avs play nine-of-10 and 12-of-15 at Pepsi Center.

WINNING WAYS The Avalanche's seven-game winning streak is the club's longest since Dec. 31, 2005—Jan. 17, 2006, when they won eight straight. Colorado, which has scored the first goal in all seven games, is outscoring the opposition 29-10 during this win streak and has never trailed at any point. The Avalanche's seven-game streak is tied with Calgary for the longest active run in the NHL and is one shy of equaling the longest streak at any point in 2017-18. Los Angeles won eight straight from Nov. 25—Dec. 9 and Vegas matched that from Dec. 14—Jan. 2.

AVS & SHARKS Tonight is the first of three meetings between the Avalanche and Sharks in 2017-18. The Avs will host the Sharks twice while making one trip to San Jose. Matt Nieto was a second-round pick (47th overall) of the Sharks in 2011, and played his first three-and-a-half NHL seasons with San Jose. Mikkel Boedker played for Colorado at the end of 2015-16.

ALL STAR BOUND Nathan MacKinnon has been selected to represent the Avalanche at the 2018 NHL All-Star Game in Tampa. MacKinnon leads the team and is tied for second in League scoring with 54 points (20g/34a) in 43 games. His 54 points are the second most of his career, nine shy of his 63 as a rookie in 2013-14. Nathan ranks second in the NHL in points-per-game (1.26), third in game-winning goals (6-tied), ninth in assists (34) and 11th in goals (20-tied). His six game winners have tied a career high set in 2015-16. The 22- year-old center paces the Avs in all three scoring categories, as well as shots (143), power-play goals (7-tied) and GWG. MacKinnon, who made his first career All-Star Game appearance last season, is the first Avalanche player to be selected to two consecutive All-Star Games since Joe Sakic in 2003-04 and 2006-07. MacKinnon is the NHL's leading scorer since Nov. 1, totaling 46 points (17g/29a) in his last 32 games. He is tied for first in scoring since Dec. 1 with 26 points (12g/14a) in 20 contests. MacKinnon’s 52 points through 41 games were the most by an Avalanche player at the halfway point of a season (through 41 team games) since 2000-01, when Sakic had 56 on his way to the Hart Trophy. Nathan has 16 multi-point games, a career high, including three or more points on seven occasions, the most by an Avs player since Paul Stastny had seven in 2009-10.

LIGHTING THE LAMP The Avs are the fifth-highest scoring team in the NHL, averaging 3.28 goals-per-game. The Avs have scored 87 goals on home ice, the most in the NHL, while their 3.63 goals-per-game average at home ranks fourth. Colorado has scored at least six goals in a game on seven occasions this season, tied with Toronto for the most such outings in 2017-18.

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS Nathan MacKinnon leads the NHL in scoring at home with 41 points (15g/26a) in 24 contests. He and his linemates, Mikko Rantanen (12g/20a) and Gabriel Landeskog (12g/13a), have combined for 98 points (39g/59a) in 24 home games. MacKinnon has a current six- game home point streak, tallying 13 points (4g/9a) during this stretch. All seven of MacKinnon's three-point efforts this season have come at Pepsi Center, the most by a Colorado player on home ice since 2002-03 (Milan Hejduk, 7 and Peter Forsberg, 9).

YOUTH IS SERVED The Avs are currently tied with Columbus for the youngest roster in the NHL with an average age of 25.6.

DRESSED TO KILL The Avs rank third in penalty killing (84.5%) and are the top-ranked PK team on home ice (92.1%). Colorado has extinguished 48 of its last 50 short-handed situations (96%). The Avs killed 36 straight penalties from Dec. 7 to Jan. 2, the second-longest streak in Avalanche history behind a 43-game run in 1996-97. The Avs went 11 straight games without allowing a power-play goal from Dec. 9- 31, the longest such streak in Avalanche history.

POWER OF LOVE Colorado's power play is 14-for-45 (31.1%) over its last 12 games, which included a season-high three goals on Dec. 23 at Arizona and Jan. 6 vs. Minnesota. The Avs rank 10th in power-play percentage (20.9%) and are fourth at home (28.1%).

DAY-DREAM BELIEVER Monday's victory over Anaheim was the first of seven home afternoon games this season, equaling the most in Avalanche history (also 1998-99 and 2002-03). The Avs will play 12 afternoon contests overall, their most since 2008-09 (12). Colorado is 2-2-1 so far in day games. The Avs had four weekday matinees this season, playing in Boston on Columbus Day (Mon, Oct. 9), in Las Vegas on Nevada Day (Fri, Oct. 27), in Minnesota on Black Friday (Nov. 24) and at home against Anaheim on MLK Day (Mon, Jan. 15).

THAT (NOT SO) EMPTY FEELING Colorado has scored 11 empty-net goals this year after tallying five last season.

TAKE YOUR HAT OFF The Avs have scored three hat tricks this year, their most in a single season since 2007-08. Gabriel Landeskog is the first Avalanche player with two hat tricks in one season since Milan Hejduk in 2006-07. Alex Ovechkin (three) and John Tavares (two) are the only other NHL players to record multiple hat tricks in 2017-18. Landeskog's three-goal efforts came exactly a month apart (Nov. 16, Dec. 16), the first Colorado player to have two in a span of 31 days or less since Joe Sakic in 1999-00.
