We selected individual rows where the terra rossa and loam barely cover the deep limestone below. To guarantee the freshness of these precious grapes, we carefully picked batches to precisely ll our membrane press in the chill of night and destemmed the bunches without crushing them. This benchmark dry Riesling has matured under optimum conditions displays the complexi- ties that ne Australian Riesling develops over time. 2009 Kanta Riesling Museum Release Adelaide Hills, SA 70 From acclaimed Mosel winemaker Egon Müller comes Kanta Wines, a passion project born from a love of South Australia and Riesling.’t he Museum Release is a series of Kanta wines only produced during exceptional vintages. A selection of finished wine is set aside and care- fully matured to showcase its ageing potential. Pascal Jolivet Sancerre Loire Valley, France 78 The vineyards of Sancerre are situated 200km to the South of Paris on hilly countyside between 200 and 400 meters altitude.The Pascal Jolivet Domaine covers 74.25 acres, with vineyards for the Sancerre appellation close to the villages of Bué, Verdigny and Ste Gemme. This is a Sauvignon blanc that is marked by richness, elegance and smoothness. This wine is powerful and presents a perfect balance. 2010 TarraWarra Estate Reserve Chardonnay Yarra Valley, VIC 85 Refined, long and poised, time in the cellar has lengthened the palate, and allowed the grilled nut characters to lift and brought the creamy balance to the fore. A struck match character on the nose opens up to reveals citrus and toastiness, and the layered yet elegant mouthfeel lingers on the palate. Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc Burgundy, France 72 White Burgundy is unquestionably one of the greatest wines of the world. Almost exclusive- ly made from Chardonnay on limestone soil, it can express both power and finesse. Olivier Leflaive was co-manager of the great Domaine Leflaive until 1994 before withdrawing to concentrate on his own venture which he started in 1985. An elegant wine with a delicate and fruity flavour. It is supple and gourmand on the palate. Two Paddocks Pinot Noir Central Otago, NZ 88 The flagship from Two Paddocks – an organically grown barrel selection from the estate properties. In 2018 this wine was produced from the four Neill family Central Otago vineyards. These small sites are high- density planted in a range of clonal material cropped to under 5 Tonne per hectare with most vineyard practices carried out by hand. As in the vineyard, the wine is hand crafted using traditional methods including a 25% whole bunch, indigenous fermentation and hand plunging. Maturation is in French barriques for 10 months, using a mix of older and new (20%) barrels. Vegan friendly. Saint Clair Block 10 Reserve Pinot Noir Marlborough, NZ 78 Saint Clair Pioneer Block wines are made from outstanding small parcels of fruit identified by Saint Clair’s winemakers from selected specialist vineyards sites reflecting the unique influence of terroir on various grape varieties. This wine on the palett is Dark and brooding showing delicious ripe damson plums and blackberries. A generous velvety texture with fresh clean acidity combine to provide great focus and length. Torres Selección de Torres Celeste Penedes, Spain 76 Founded in 1870 by Jamie Torres, today the Bodegas Torres is considered to be one of the world’s great wine families producing wines from across Spain, Chile and California. This Tempranillo has Dark cherry red with intense garnet highlights. Aromas of black fruit (wild blackberries, blueberries) and delicate toasted notes (coffee) with nicely oak-aged under- tones (toasted oak). Serious and warm with very fine, juicy, velvety tannins. VEGAN/VEGETARIAN | SUSTAINABLE | ORGANIC | BIODYNAMIC 2013 Prunotto Barolo (Piedmont, Italy) 116 Prunotto Barolo from Antinori’s Prunotto Estate in Piemonte. An excellent complex classical Barolo made solely from Nebbiolo grapes. A wine with long life. 2012 West Cape Howe Book Ends Cabernet Sauvignon Museum Release Mt Barker, WA 80 Handcrafted single vineyard Cabernet expressing the site terroir from which it originates. Super deep, very dark crimsony red. Typically for Mt Barker Cabernet, the 2012 ‘Book Ends’ is quite restrained on the nose with smoky dark berries and red currant characters. Also has hints of raspberry with dark chocolate. This is well flavoured and more generous on the palate with those gorgeous dark, dusty, berry fruit flavours. Vasse Felix Tom Cullity Cabernet Malbec Margeret River, WA 225 Vasse Felix, Margaret River’s founding wine estate, was established by Dr Thomas Brendan Cullity in 1967. Among his first plantings were Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec vines, from which he produced the estate’s first red wine. The Tom Cullity descends from these original vines and represents the pinnacle of Vasse Felix. Yalumba The Octavius Shiraz Barossa, SA 195 Signifying Yalumba’s commitment to Barossa Shiraz, this is a truly individual wine, hand- crafted, handmade and matured in ne French oak and Yalumba coopered American octave barrels. ese unique barrels, which o ered inspiration for the wine’s name, are just one of the many harmonious components in the symphony that is Yalumba e Octavius Shiraz. 2008 Ox Hardy 1891 Ancestor Vines Shiraz Barossa, SA 242 Andrew ‘Ox’ Hardy is one of Australia’s most respected winemakers and his family’s Upper Tintara Vineyard is one of Australia’s most important viticultural assets. The Vineyard’s last remaining 2.54ha block of 1891 Ancestor Vines, planted by Andrew’s great-great grandfather Thomas Hardy, are some of Australia’s oldest and most valuable. And Andrew’s library of wines made from the family’s vineyard over the past two decades, but cellared and hidden from the public until the first release in 2019, demonstrate the quality and age-worthiness of these special releases. The super-premium 1891 Ancestor Vine Shiraz is a limited-edition wine of just 800 bottles, which draws on all of Hardy’s 36 years of winemaking experience.
