Thank you for continuing to share your thoughts and comments on many of these bills. This year, Senator Glenn Wakai and I will be hosting our yearly Town Hall Meeting at Salt Lake Elementary School Cafeteria on Thursday, March 31, 2016. Please join us for dinner as we discuss legislation and hear from Rep. Ichiyama and Rep. Johanson answer Moanalua Middle community members. School students' questions about the legislature. Contact [email protected] Ellison Onizuka Day This year marked the 30th anniversary of the U.S. Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. Governor Ige declared January 28, 2016 as Ellison Onizuka Day in memory of astronaut Onizuka and his fellow crewmembers. Saturday, April 23, 2016 Born and raised in Kealakekua, Kona, Hawaii, Ellison 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Onizuka graduated from Konawaena High School in 1964. Moanalua Elementary School Lt. Colonel Onizuka was the first Asian American Turn Trash into Cash for our Students! astronaut in space and was a member of the U.S. Space Shuttle Challenger Crew. The crew of the Challenger lost their lives on January 28, 1986. Central District Honor Orchestra On February 13, 2016, Representative Ichiyama attended a performance by the Central District Honor Orchestra held at the Pearl City Cultural Center. The orchestra program is an integral part of the music program in our schools. Nine schools are represented in the Central District Honor Orchestra. These schools include: Mililani Ike Rep.
