Directions to Salford Civic Centre, Swinton Salford Civic Centre is on Chorley Road (A6) in the centre of Swinton at its junction with Partington Lane (B5231), approximately a quarter of a mile north of the East Lancashire Road (A580) in north west Greater Manchester. The city council encourages sustainable travel to its sites and is well connected by public transport and other sustainable travel choices. Public transport in Greater Manchester Up to date public transport service information for Greater Manchester is available on the Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM) website or by calling 0871 200 2233 between 7.00am and 8.00pm, Monday to Friday, and 8.00am and 8.00pm at weekends and bank holidays. Other public transport links are provided in the 'see also' area of this page. Bus Council offices on and around Chorley Road in Swinton are well served by public transport. During working hours bus numbers 36, 37 and 38 operating between Bolton and Manchester every ten minutes, proving links between Swinton and Little Hulton, Walkden and Salford University. Other services that operate between Manchester and Swinton are the 32, this is the fastest route but stops on the East Lancs and so requires a ten minute walk up Partington Lane to the Civic Centre. You can also take the 12, 25, 26 and 37. VENUE DETAILS The 22 service (between Stockport and Eccles) runs about every half an hour. See below for timetable information. Rail Swinton Railway Station is a short walk away and provides direct services twice an hour to Wigan, Walkden, Salford, Manchester and Rochdale, plus destinations further afield. Getting to the Civic Centre by cycling or walking Help on planning your cycling journey is available via Greater Manchester Cycle Map 10 and online journey planners are also available on the TFGM website. Short stay cycle parking at the civic campus is available between Unity House and the Civic Centre reception. Longer term, covered cycle parking is available at the rear of Unity House and the rear of the Civic Centre in the 'service area'. If walking is an option for your visit, you may find Walkit.com useful. This is an online walking journey planner that suggests suitable routes and gives an indication of time required, distance, CO2 saved and calories burnt. Electric vehicles Parking for electric vehicles is available on the Civic Centre visitors car park. Two fast chargers (7.0kw) are available, with free parking up to four hours. The charge posts are part of the Greater Manchester Electric Vehicle (GMEV) scheme. Getting to the Civic Centre from the M60 Manchester Orbital If you are driving to the Civic Centre via the M60 motorway, eastbound (clockwise) traffic should exit at junction 13 (Worsley) and follow the A572 towards Swinton. Westbound (anti-clockwise) traffic should leave at junction 16 (Swinton) and turn left onto the A666. Please note: there is no eastbound/clockwise exit on the M60 at junction 14, 15, and 16. Also there is no westbound/anti-clockwise exit on the M60 at junction 14 and 15. A visitor's car park is available at the front of Unity House; all visitors must obtain a ticket as soon as they arrive and display this in their windscreen. .

    SALFORD HEART CARE ANNUAL REPORT October 2017 - September 2018 An AGM is a time to reflect on the year and a time to look to the future. Several major changes have happened during the last 12 months at Salford Heart Care. In May 2018 we moved out of our office premises at Patricroft URC. The move has enabled us to make savings amounting to more than £3,500 per year whilst reducing the risk associated with negotiating and agreeing terms of a lease agreement with the landlord. We have also established a new Bereavement Support Group and the response to this service has been remarkable. In August we received a visit from Dr Tom Tasker (Chair of Salford NHS CCG). He was very impressed with our work and our social impact, despite the “meagre” funding we require to survive. The City Mayor, Paul Dennett, Cllr Gina Reynolds and the Ceremonial Mayor of Salford have also visited our clubs during the year. We are very sorry to report the following deaths from within our membership during the year: Edna Jary, 5th November 2017 aged 90. Barbara (Liz) Davey, December 2017, aged 72. Joanne Moreton, 23rd January 2018, aged 51. Geraldine Fowler, 24th March 2018, aged 69. Derek Styles, June 2018, aged 60. Sandra Dickenson, 29th June 2018, aged 50. 1. Directors and Committee Members Salford Heart Care has 8 Directors and all currently serve on the Steering Committee. There are no changes to Directors this year. 2. 31st Anniversary and Social Events This year in August, Salford Heart Care celebrated its 31st Anniversary at The Millstones in Harrogate.
