On behalf of the marina team I am delighted to welcome both our regular berth holders and all our visitors. Phase two of the marina re-development is now well under way with a programme of refurbishment to 'The Sheds' to create new retail space, offices and workshops. We also continue to work closely with Port Edgar Yacht Club and other stakeholders on the plans for a new 'Marina Hub' building and look forward to moving this project forward in 2016. The season ahead has a busy programme of events, with regattas for all types of craft from coastal rowing skiffs and sea kayaks to dinghies and yachts. In May we will also be commemorating the centenary of the WW I Battle of Jutland, which has such close connections with the Royal Navy's former Destroyer Base at Port Edgar. We hope you have a fantastic sailing season. Hoist/Manitou Our Wise slipway travel hoist is capable of launching and recovering vessels up to 25 tons displacement. For smaller craft up to 3.5 tons displacement, and for mast stepping, we utilise a Manitou telehandler. We are happy to launch and retrieve boats without the need for owners to be present, as long as the office are provided with a set of keys to move your boat. There is no extra charge for this service.

11 PORT EDGAR BOAT STATION Port Edgar Boat Station is a national Sea Cadet training centre where young people can get out on the water and learn new skills in sailing, windsurfing, rowing and powerboating. Whether at sea or on land Sea Cadets 14,000 young people are challenging offers young people between 10 and themselves and learning new skills 18 an environment where they can find based on the customs and traditions of confidence and inspiration, through the Royal Navy to give them the best nautical adventure. Aimed primarily at those recovering from cancer – and their supporters – the team was established in 2010 with support from Paddlers for Life, a UK wide breast cancer dragon boat network. We acquired our first dragon boat in 2011 and began to develop dragon boat paddling in the Edinburgh area. We usually paddle on Sundays during spring summer and autumn and we welcome everyone who would like to try this amazing sport. This means anyone who has had a cancer diagnosis, their family and friends, and anyone interested in supporting the team. Come and have a go! Your first paddle is free!
