AT THRESHOLD OF CAREER 2 Amit Chavda President, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee Dear Students, Hearty congratulations to all students on your success in Standard-12 examination which is very crucial year for your academic career. Parents and Students of Standard-10 and standard-12 remain very active for success through hard work. It is responsibility of concerned Government to provide proper guidance for students for their future studies. However, State’s BJP government has proved to be total failure in discharging its responsibility. Congress-led UPA Government which was determined for inclusive growth of the country enacted ‘Right to Education Act’ for welfare of people. Introduced several schemes for building literate India and allotted huge grants for implementation of the schemes, however, adequate benefit of such schemes do not reach to needy students due to large scale corruptions in Education Department of the State. Education has been commercialized in the State in large scale. By establishing National Knowledge Network by UPA Government in center, more than 400 Universities and 100 National Institutes have been inter-connected and 19,000 knowledge network nodes have been set up in the country. In Gujarat also, Central University has been set up more and above a national institute of IIT which is a matter of pride for Gujarat. More than 60% vacancies of academic staff including Principal, Professor, Assistant Professor, Lecturer are vacant in engineering-pharmacy, degree, diploma Government colleges in State which has direct impact on education of students and students are deprived of quality education as a result, job offers in campus placement by reputed companies of India and overseas are negligible. This is sincere attempt for 13th consecutive year by Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee to help students of the State through this career guidance book titled “At the Threshold of Career”. I congratulate on behalf of Congress party to the team including Dr. Manish Doshi, Dr. Vijay Dave, Mr. Nishit Vyas, Mr.Hiren Banker and Mr.Kirtan Jani who made strenuous efforts in preparing this guide “At the threshold of career – What after Standard 12?” For further information and guidance on career building, you can directly approach State Office, Congress party offices of District-Taluka place. I welcome suggestions of students/parents on this book. Wish you all the best for achieving highest career position in your life and for better future. AT THRESHOLD OF CAREER 3 Paresh Dhanani Congress Legislative Party Leader, Gujarat Legislative Assembly Dear students, I congratulate all the students who have succeeded in Standard-12 examination. Selection of correct and proper course after Standard-12 is very necessary for progress in life. I appreciate efforts of launching of career guidance book “At the threshold of career – What after Standard 12?” by Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee’s dedicated leader and party spokesperson Dr. Manish Doshi (Engineer) and his associates for making available proper guidance to students. I extend my congratulations to all for publication of such a useful guide. The Congress-led UPA Government was determined for education to all and for this purpose, enacted “Right to Education Act” so that no child is deprived of education in this country; however, Government of Gujarat is directionless for its implementation. Though BJP Government enacted Fee Regulation Act, but is passive in strict implementation thereof hence students and parents are in great difficulties. In BJP rule which misled students and parents under the guise of Fee Regulatory Act, teaching staff is at a big shortage in the State which directly affects education of students and their future is badly affected. The State Government which is busy and cosy with commercialization of education has remained negligent for future of students. On one hand number of unemployed is going up in the State, there is no adequate staff in Government Departments and on the other hand, State Government is economically exploiting education young boys and girls in the name of Fixed Pay. UPA Government made provision for loan for students of middle class and poor families who are aspiring for studies abroad. The State Government must support scholar students by increasing amount of scholarships; however, instead the State Government is wasting money on festivities which is aimed at utilization on education. Congress party has been ever vigilant for correct information and proper guidance to the students related to their career. I wish to the team to remain active for helping students through such good gestures. AT THRESHOLD OF CAREER 4 INDEX 1. HOW TO SHAPE YOUR CAREER ? 2.
