Joseph Calvi osj Dear Confreres and Josephite-Marellian Laity, This past September 26 has been the 75th Anniversary of the death of our confrere the Servant of God Fr. Joseph Calvi and, as we know, it is a special opportunity to pray during our celebrations for the grace of his beatification. His Cause is continuing in the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, but it demands of us who wish to see him proclai- med a Saint a commitment made up of concrete actions such as: praying for his canonization each day in our com- munities; encouraging people to pray for this grace, at least on the 26th of each month; to make better known the Sevant of God by means of biographies and other writings; distribute holy cards with his image particularly among the sick so that it becomes normal to seek healing through his intercession; and finally, encourage people to ask God for graces through his intercession. The just concluded XVII General Chapter of our Congre- gation, emphasizing the importance of all of us dedicating ourselves to ensuring that this process not remain on the bookshelves of the Congregation, said this: ”Regarding the knowledge and commitment for the canonization of our confrere, the Servant of God Father Joseph Calvi, we reco- gnize that today, despite much insistence, it seems that his cause is still a marginal reality in the Congregation and of interest only to a few confreres”. Therefore, the same Chapter established for the next six year period the following Resolution: “Each Confrere is to commit himself to giving greater importance to knowledge of the Servant of God Father Joseph Calvi and to pray for his canonization, encouraging greater involvement among our laity. The International Josephite-Marellian Center will provide translations of texts in different languages, distri- bute holy cards with his image, particularly, among the sick, and organize communal celebrations to ask the Lord for his canonization“. We therefore invite you, confreres and laity, to a consi- derable dedication in all of our houses and areas of mini- stry so that the Servant of God, Fr. Joseph Calvi, might be remembered with many prayers and made better known, and that this commitment be carried out through the enti- re year.

Sunday, April 26, 2015 1 June 24, 2018 Solemnity of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist JUNE IS DIACONATE MONTH (Part 3 of a 3 part series) My Experience as Deacon Dennis’ Wife - by Jo Gorsuch It is my great honor to journey with Dennis as he responds to his call to the Permanent Diaconate and serves here at St. Joseph Marello Catholic Church. We are blessed to be assigned to this Parish, especially benefiting from the spiritual wealth of the Oblates of St. Joseph and our devout parishioners. When Dennis first told me that he felt a call to become a deacon, I was very surprised, but I encouraged him to follow his heart. Soon we learned that the wife of a Permanent Deacon has a role to play. When a husband/ father assumes the responsibilities of a permanent deacon, there is definitely an impact on balancing married life, family life and career responsibilities. Wives are called upon to accompany the deacon candidates in the discernment process and pre-ordination formation activities. This included psychological testing and interviews prior to our being accepted as a couple into the diaconate class. I attended all weekends of prayer and instruction for the discernment year and the four years of diaconal formation. Participating in this way allowed Dennis and I to grow together, strengthen our marriage and prepare for dedicated service to the church. Each year each wife had the opportunity to express any reservations they had regarding their husband continuing in the formation program in a letter to Bishop Weigand.

O Indizível. A Existência autónoma. – Adão conheceu a mulher e ela concebeu e deu à luz.

This study focuses on the interaction between traditions through analysis of the shrine's two major artworks: a crucifix devoted to El Senor de Esquipulas (Christ of Esquipulas) and a statue of the Santo Nino (Holy Child). The shrine and its two primary artworks are expressions of the dynamic interaction between native and European cultures in New Mexico at the beginning of the nineteenth century. They frame the discussion of native and Christian cultural exchange about the relationships between religious images, how they function, and how they are interpreted. 3""H /S8I At®. ~7S~$o IMAGE AND IDENTITY AT EL SANTUARIO DE CHIMAYO IN CHIMAYO, NEW MEXICO THESIS Presented to the Graduate Council of the University of North Texas in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements For the Degree of MASTER OF ARTS By Dana Engstrom DeLoach, B.A. Denton, Texas May, 1999 TABLE OF CONTENTS Chapter 1.
ABSTRACT: This bibliographical research, with a qualitative approach, aims to understand the educational proposal of the Oblates of St.
